? 59 <br />MINUTES OF TBE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />September 17, 1990 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, September 17, 1990, at <br />8:01 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council President Patsy Mills presided. <br />Present: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills, <br />Mr. Pietrafese, and Mr. Rinker <br />Also Present Were: Mayor Carmen, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Hovancsek (8:07 p.m.), Mr. Patrick, <br />Mr. Ramos, Chief Mohr, Chief Stevens, and Miss Heath <br />OPEN PORTION <br />Jud2e Robert Gro2an. 480 Oakton Circle - said that he and Sandy Bordonaro appeared here last <br />spring and talked about the Village acquiring the last green spot on the north end of town <br />(Parkview Golf Course.) He said they were pleased to get the word from Mrs. Mills that Council <br />and Mayor Carmen had set up a committee to study the idea (the Golf Course Acquisition <br />Committee.) Judge Grogan stated that the Golf Course Acquisition Committee met at least five <br />times during the summer. He said that the City of Willoughby recendy acquired the Lost Nation <br />Golf Course, made improvements, and that it has not cost the taxpayers anything. He said that the <br />Village hired an appraiser who completed a preliminary appraisal. _ Judge Grogan.said the <br />committee voted 4-1 that the Village make an offer to purchase the golf course and that ttie <br />committee made recommendations to Council at their August 13 meeting (see minutes of the <br />G.C.A.C. Meering, a copy of which is attached to the August 27 Special Council Meeting <br />. Minutes.) Judge Grogan said he and Mr. Colvard are here this evening to follow up on this matter; <br />they have not heard what has happened since they made the recommendarion. <br />Mr. Basile suggested Council hold a pro-con vote on this matter. <br />Judge Crrogan thanked Council, Gus Amendola, and Fred Ramos for their help. He said that <br />Sandy Bordonaro could not attend the meeting this evening. Judge Grogan read a statement from <br />Mr. Bordonaro. (A copy is attached to the minutes of this meeting.) Mr. Bordonaro's letter <br />expressed his thanks for the opportunity to serve on the Golf Course Acquisition Committee, <br />mentioned several of the many benefits to be derived from the purchase of the Parkview Golf <br />Course--one of which is "the fact that it may well pay for itself, ultimately costing the Village little <br />or nothing." Mr. Bordonaro (in his letter), implored Council to vote publicly on the <br />recommendation of the Golf Course Acquisition Committee. Mrs. Mills asked Council's pleasure. <br /> <br />Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Pietrafese, made a motion to amend the agenda to include the Golf <br />Course Acquisition Committee at the end of "Old Business." <br />CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br />Re,gular Council Meering - August 20. 1990 - Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a <br />motion to approve the minutes. <br />ROLL CALL: AYES : All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Minutes Approved
