MIlVUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
Mayfield Village
January 22, 2001
The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session on Monday, January 22, 2001, at
8:00 p.m. in the Mayfield Village Senior Center/Community Room. Council President Bill
Marquaxdt presided.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ilacqua,
Mr. Marquardt, Mrs. Mills and Dr. Parker
Absent: None
Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Brett,lVlr. Cappello, Mr. Diemert,
Mr. Hovancsek (8:33 p.m.), Mr. Metzung, Chief Mohr, Mr. Samac,
Chief Stevens (called away shortly after roll call), Mr. Thomas and Mrs.
Roman
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
OPEN PORTION OF MEETING.......... 5 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to
speak must first state their name and address.
Rich Christian, 510 S.O.M. Center Road, asked the status of the electric deregulation.
Council President Marquardt said there will be a flier coming out.
Mrs. Roman said a flier was mailed today. Residents should receive it tomorrow or the next day.
She can bring back copies ta tonight's meeting.
Council President Marqua, rdt said it basicaily outlines where NOPEC stands at the moment as far
as negotiating the rates, where they stand and whether or not people have to participate in it.
Mayor Rinker said the theory is #hat aggregation gives everyone buying power and by increasing
the numbers of buyers, you should get economies because you are guaranteed such a large number
of customers. We are dependant upon NOPEC. They are to be sending to residents information
and a form within the next few weeks. One of the questions we have been getting frequently is
whether someone is already signed up with a company and they want to switch to go with NOPEC,
how do they do it. We don't have the answers to those questions right now. As we get
information, we are trying to disseminate it. We know we successfully joined NOPEC; now it is a
question of what is the product they will be able to deliver.
CONSIDERATION OF NIINUTES:
Regular Council Meeting - December 18, 2000 - Mr. Busa, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a
motion to approve the minutes.
