MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
, Mayfield Village
October 15, 2001
The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session on Monday, October 15, 2001, at
8:00 p.m. in the Mayfield Village Senior Center/Community Room. Council President Bill
Marquardt presided.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ilacqua,
Mr. Marquardt, Mrs. Mills and Dr. Parker
Absent: None
Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Brett, Mr. Cappello, Mr. Hanculak,
Mr. Metzung,, Chief Stevens, Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Roman
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
OPEN PORTION
Jeanne Pollock, 875 Worton Park Drive, said she has been experiencing rusty water periodically
since 1995. She and Mrs. Neroni (a neighbor at 880) have sent letters to representatives of the
EPA and State Senators (she was given a listing by the Finance Director.) A copy of the letter is
attached to the minutes as a permanent record and provides the details of Mrs. Pollock's
comments at this meeting.
Mrs. Pollock explained that she has made numerous calls to Village Hall and sometimes talked
to the Fire Department. The hydrant across the street was changed, the sewer
projects were completed and she still has rusty water.
Mrs. Pollock showed two samples--one of the water and one with a paper towel used to wipe the
bathtub after the rusty water had been in it.
Mayor Rinker said when you talked to Mrs. Neroni, did she give you the addresses that Phil had
provided her?
Mrs. Pollock said yes; she sent it to everyone on the list and several others and the Cuyahoga
County Health Department--there were 13-15 altogether.
Mayor Rinker said he is sorry it has had to come to this point. Back in the early part of the year
we had Bernie go out and canvas everyone (I know it started with you and Mrs. Neroni and that
kind of got us looking around.) If you come to tomorrow night's meeting, the Worton Park
Homeowners Group is finally getting together again. One of the things I want to talk about is the
