RESOLUTION 2020-32 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION OF THE <br />"CARES ACT CORONAVIRUS RELIEF FUND" <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE DEPOSIT OF FUNDS INTO SUCH ACCOUNT <br />WHEREAS, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, 116 Public Law <br />136, (the CARES Act) was signed into law by the President of the United States on March 27, <br />2020; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio General Assembly established a process for distributing funds <br />provided by the "Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act" in H.B. 481 of the 133rd <br />General Assembly (H.B. 481); and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council enacted Resolution 2020-31 in accordance with H.B. 481 <br />in order to receive a distribution of these funds; and <br />WHEREAS, any funds received must be deposited into a separate Special Revenue Fund <br />established pursuant to O.R.C. Section 5705.09; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of Council to establish the "CARES Act Coronavirus Relief <br />Fund" in order to deposit any funds received under the CARES Act. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Mayfield, <br />County of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio: <br />SECTION 1. There is hereby and herein created a fund to be known as the "CARES Act <br />Coronavirus Relief Fund". The source of monies deposited into said fund shall be funds received <br />from the County Coronavirus Relief Distribution Fund pursuant to H.B. 481. Expenditures made <br />from this fund shall only be to cover costs consistent with the requirements of Section 5001 of the <br />CARES Act as described in 42 U.S.C. 601(d), and any applicable regulations. <br />SECTION 2. The Director of Finance is authorized and directed to establish said fund and <br />to deposit monies therein as indicated by Council. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meeting of this Council; and <br />that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place <br />in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />
