LA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2020-27 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING MAYFIELD VILLAGE TO ENTER INTO <br />A COMMUNITY DIVERSION PROGRAM AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />CUYAHOGA COUNTY COURT OF COMMON PLEAS JUVENILE DIVISION <br />WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Juvenile Division (the <br />"Court") desires to engage Mayfield Village's services to develop and implement the Community <br />Diversion Program for complaints committed in Mayfield Village or complaints that are <br />committed elsewhere by Mayfield Village residents; and <br />WHEREAS, the target population for the Community Diversion Program are males and <br />females, ages ten (10) to seventeen (17) and are residents of Cuyahoga County; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to govern the relationship between the Court and the Village for the <br />Community Diversion Program it is necessary to enter into the Community Diversion Program <br />Agreement with the Court; and <br />WHEREAS, the Community Diversion Program is intended to implement effective <br />services with a focus on rehabilitation and accountability for the target population of the Program; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Council deems it necessary and in the best interest to the health safety and <br />welfare of all Mayfield Village residents to enter into the Community Diversion Program <br />Agreement with the Court. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Council of Mayfield Village finds and determines that it is in the best <br />interest on the Village to enter into the Community Diversion Program Agreement and authorizes <br />the Mayor and President of Council to execute the Community Diversion Program Agreement <br />with the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Juvenile Division. <br />SECTION 2. That the Village of Mayfield does hereby agree to obligate the funds <br />required to satisfactorily participate in the program and become eligible for reimbursement under <br />the terms of the Community Diversion Program Agreement. <br />41c; <br />
