LA RESOLUTION NO. 2020-27 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MAYFIELD VILLAGE TO ENTER INTO A COMMUNITY DIVERSION PROGRAM AGREEMENT WITH THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY COURT OF COMMON PLEAS JUVENILE DIVISION WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Juvenile Division (the "Court") desires to engage Mayfield Village's services to develop and implement the Community Diversion Program for complaints committed in Mayfield Village or complaints that are committed elsewhere by Mayfield Village residents; and WHEREAS, the target population for the Community Diversion Program are males and females, ages ten (10) to seventeen (17) and are residents of Cuyahoga County; and WHEREAS, in order to govern the relationship between the Court and the Village for the Community Diversion Program it is necessary to enter into the Community Diversion Program Agreement with the Court; and WHEREAS, the Community Diversion Program is intended to implement effective services with a focus on rehabilitation and accountability for the target population of the Program; and WHEREAS, the Council deems it necessary and in the best interest to the health safety and welfare of all Mayfield Village residents to enter into the Community Diversion Program Agreement with the Court. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. The Council of Mayfield Village finds and determines that it is in the best interest on the Village to enter into the Community Diversion Program Agreement and authorizes the Mayor and President of Council to execute the Community Diversion Program Agreement with the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Juvenile Division. SECTION 2. That the Village of Mayfield does hereby agree to obligate the funds required to satisfactorily participate in the program and become eligible for reimbursement under the terms of the Community Diversion Program Agreement. 41c;
