RESOLUTION NO. 2022-41 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR <br />AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL TO FILE AN APPLICATION <br />WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES <br />FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WITH PUBLIC RECREATION AREAS <br />THROUGH THE LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND <br />WHEREAS, the State of Ohio through the Department of Natural Resources, administers <br />financial assistance for the development of outdoor public recreation areas, through the State of <br />Ohio Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF); and <br />WHEREAS, the LWCF grant program provides up to 50% reimbursement assistance for <br />state and local government subdivisions (townships, villages, cities, counties, park districts, joint <br />recreation districts, and conservancy districts) for the acquisition, development, and rehabilitation <br />of recreational areas; and <br />GO WHEREAS, the Village of Mayfield desires financial assistance under the LWCF grant <br />program for the Wiley Park Improvement Project; and <br />WHEREAS, Council deems it necessary and in the best interest to the health, safety and <br />welfare of all Village residents to submit an application to the Ohio Department of Natural <br />Resources for financial assistance from the LWCF. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Mayfield, <br />County of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, that: <br />SECTION 1. Mayfield Village Council approves the filing of an application with the Ohio <br />Department of Natural Resources for financial assistance from the LWCF for the Wiley Park <br />Improvement Project. <br />SECTION 2. The Mayor, and/or her authorized representative, is hereby authorized and <br />directed to execute and file an application with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and to <br />provide all information and documentation required to become eligible for possible funding <br />assistance. <br />
