City Engineer Schaller <br />explained at length how size of retention system is determined; how <br />much pipe will be installed, explaining that no additional water will <br />be allowed to run off onto adjacent properties; that the Water Department <br />does not beleive this site would have a significant impact on the water <br />pressure in the area, especially in view of the improvements that have <br />been made to the system recently; there would be no assessment to any <br />present homeowners for any of the utilities; that blasting is allowed <br />and is regulated by the Fire Department; that all utilities will stay <br />within the public right.of way (30 feet from each side of the center line <br />of the road):?and property owners will have the opportunity to move any <br />planting in this right of way which might be disturbed by the construction; <br />access to their fiomes will be maintained and utilities will be continued <br />with possible short term interruptions;and if any construction problems <br />arise, they will be:handled by the various city departments, and not <br />returned to the Planning Comaission. Mr. Andreano, engineer, stated <br />that they are not planning to do any b lasting and intend to use rippers, <br />however he cannot promise that the developer will do no blastinge <br />J. Burns moved to approve the plans for construction of the subdivision <br />improvements for the Bradley Oaks Subdivision, seconded by R. Bierman. <br />Roll call on motion: Burns, Bierman, Betts, and Morgan, Yes. Thomas <br />and Traczyk, no. Motion carried. <br />V. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Catalogue of publications from the Planners' Book Store. <br />Mr. Sanker has presented a copy of a letter from the Law Director which <br />states that awnings are not part of a structure and would not have to receive <br />approvals from the Planning Commission. Mr. Morgan believes that the <br />Building Commissioner should have the right to send awnings to the Commission <br />if he determines that it is necessary.
