There will also be interior reno-
vations and the seating will be decreased to 99 seats. Mr. Zergott suggested
that the 3 para11e1 parking spaces beside the drive through window be
eliminated and merely cutting back on some of the existing landscaping at
that point. Mr. Pattison suggested that they designate some parking spaces
for waiting for drive through orders and show handicapped spaces on the
plans. J. Britton moved to accept the nlans as submitted with the excep-
tion of the parallel parking areas to be maintained as a landscaped area,
and if at a later time, it is deemed that those spaces are necessary, at
that time modifications could be made, seconded by B. Zergott, and unani-
mous.ly approved,
2) Drug Mart, 24485 Lorain Road
Propos.al to construct an addition (for storage) on rear of b uilding.
(Heard by Planning Commission June 9, 1987).
Mr. Giesser, attorn.ey, and Mr. DelGuidice, architect, presented plans for
the 3,600 square foot storage area on the rear of the building. The
exis:ting building now has concrete block painted yellow to match the
brick on. the east and south wa11s, b ut since they are no longer allowed to
use concrete block, they are proposing to use a split face b lock on the
rear and will attempt to match the brick on the west side if possible.
Si,nce there are plans to construct another addition, they are questioning
if they could use an 8 inch split block for the entire addition. Mr.
Pattison stated that since the west wall will be flush with the existing
brick wa11, the split face block would appear as a near miss. He suggested
that as a temporary measure they use a scored, integrally colored block,
and explained that it is a 16 inch block souared into 4 sections. Mr.
DelGuidice agreed but stated that if they can find the matching b rick
they, will use it, D. Pattison moved to approve the addition with the
subst.itut.ion of a rescored p.roduct, integrally colored, light buff by
Koppes C1ayt and that brick to match the existing also would be approved
for the west wal1, seconded by B. Zergott, and unanimously approved.
3) G'heradon Plaza ITI, southeast corner of Dover Center Rd. and Brookpark Ext.
Proposal to change exteri_or material on proposal previously approved by
Planning Commission on March 24, 1987. They are now requesting to use white
spli,t face block for the entire building since they believe that it will
be more attractive, Mr. Pattison pointed out that when proposal was
ori.ginally presented, it was stated that it would match the other two
buildings in the plaza. He further stated that most of the buildings
along Dover Center are brown or red brick, and this phase will be adja-
cent to Dover Center Road.
