<br />- " CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMMTSSION <br />MINUTES-NOVEMBER 22, 1988 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Morgan called the meeting to order at 8:07 p.m. <br />Present: M. Betts, R. Bierman, R. Bowen, B. Gorris, J. Thomas, E. Traczyk, <br />and T. Morgan. <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director J. Dubelko, Chief Building Inspector <br />D. Sanker, Consulting Cit}i Engineer S. Cesen, and Acting <br />Clerk of Commissions S. Pulice. <br />II. REVIEW-AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />E. Traczyk moved to approve the minutes'of November 8, 1988 as written, <br />seconded by J. Thomas, and unanimously approved. <br />II. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1) Fish Furniture, 23770 Lorain Road, <br />Revision to plans previously heard by Planning Commission January 26, 1988. <br />Heard by Board of Zoning Appeals November 2, 1988. <br />Heard by Architectural Board of Review November 16, 1988. <br />Mr. Mongello, architect, presented a sample of the siding in an almond <br />or beige color (Randex Beige), and advised the the Architectural Board <br />of Review had approved the revised plans as well as the stucco material <br />on the west wall which is hidden by the adjacent building. The decision <br />on landbanking parkirtg spaces and the actual location of the fire hydrant <br />will be made in the spring and will be presented to this board at that <br />time. B. Gorris moved to approve the plans for Fish Furniture, 23770 <br />Lorain Road, with the recommendation again'of the laridbanking, if possible, <br />of spaces 2, 3, and 4, and incorporating the recommendations of the Archi- <br />tectural Review Board, seconded by R. Bierman, and unanimously approved. <br />2) Sakura Japanese Restaurant, 26225 Great Northern Shopping Plaza (north). <br />Proposal to renovate store front for restaurant. ' <br />Heard by Architectural Board of Review November 16, 1988. : <br />Ms. Hembree presented revised plans. The Architectural Board of Review <br />had approved with the recommendation that the aluminium frames around the <br />windows and doors would be painted brown or black to either blend in or <br />contrast with the other materials, lava panels will not run up along the <br />side of the windows'as originally planned but only to the bottom of the <br />windows at the request of the owner of the shopping center. Ms. Hembree <br />presented samples of the materials, lava rock is deep onyx no. 3632 <br />(Glidden Paints), window frames painted to match (same as above) and <br />portal is to be stained mahogany. Ms Hembree would still prefer that the <br />lava panels be installed beside the windows, but was advised that this <br />was between her`landlord and herself. R. Bierman moved to approve the <br />revised plans dated 11/19/88 for the Sakura Restaurant, 26225 Great <br />Northern Shoppint Plaza subject to the colors presented by number and <br />also the Architectural Board of Review`s recommendations, seconded by <br />J. Thomas, and unanimously approved. Copies of the revised plans were <br />kept for the Building Department.
