A
L
Page 2
May 9th N.O.L.C. Meeting
NEW BUSINESS:
BUTTERNUT RIDGE ROAD CEMETERY SIGN Russ Bierman made the
following motion concerning the new Butternut Ridge Cemetery
sign "That the N.O.L.C. investigate the possibility of obtaininy
a more appropriate sign for the cemetery". The motion was
properly seconded by Tony Smeraldi, and, passed unanimously
by the membership, further discussion will be entertained at the next meeting.
FRIENDS OF NORTH OLMSTED LANDMARKS
The commission discussed the possibilty of establishing
a fund raising organization that would raise money specifical_ly
for the restoration of Old Town Hall. The name of such
an organization would be " Friends of the North Olmsted
Landmarlcs" Or any other suitable name.
Since it is doubtful that there will be a continuing
flow of grant money, and due to the fact that the City may
be unable to budget funds for restoration, it may be in
the best interest of Old Town Hall Restoration if an independent:
organization could provide for restoration funds.
The main objective of such an organization would be
to provide monies to pay for: 1) The completion of Old Town
Hall Restoration according to the 1983 Plan Entitled a master
lan for reservation-THE OLD TOWN HALL-NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO,
2) Funds availab°le for interior decorating, & 3) Funds available
to purchase the appropriate furnishings for the Restored
Old Town Hall.
The N.O.L.C. should establish what the future uses
of Old Town Hall are to be. Some guarantee from the City
should be obtained, that is the use of and any remodeling
of Old Town Hall should be restricted and approved by the
N.O.L.C. .
The Commission agreed to discuss this issue at the next
meeting.
Since there was rio furtehr business, the meeting adjourned aL-
9:05pm
