ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW DECEMBER 13, 1988 PAGE 2
Mr. Del Guidice, architect, and Mr. Romp, owner, explained that the
15,000 square foot addition will match the existing building in a brown
brick with brown brick columns and a cedar roof. They wi11 be renovating
the west elevation by adding brown brick piers and the cedar roof, and
explained that they wall is yellow brick now and there is some yellow
brick on the front of the Drug Mart building. Mr. Romp stated that they
would probably have the existing cedar shingles power cleaned and treated.
The rear wall will be a yellow split face block to match the wall on the
recently completed addition. The roof top mechanical units will be
concealed behind the mansard. They will be removing two pole lights and
two new metal.hallite lights will be added to the rear parking lot, and
will be directed down. The light on the rear of the Danny Boy market
will be shielded as requested at the Planning Commission meeting. Mr.
Romp stated that they may add some low lighting in the landscape area
next to the fence on the rear. He further explained that they are con-
sidering mounding the landscape buffer in the rear so that it will be
approximately 4 feet high and will be planting the trees on the top of
the mound (mounding is not shown on the plan). Building Commissioner
Conway explained that the landscaping was determined in the court
settlement and is not subject to review by the city. Mr. Gallagher
stated that he has no objection to the plan as long as the lights did
not spill over to the residential property and commented that he believed
the two colors of brick would be a good contrast.
IV. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
T. Gallagher, Acting Chairman B. Oring, Clerk of Commissions
