PLANNING COM?fISSION NOVENIBER 14, 1989 PAGE 2
back to the owners in"order to get some resolution of the problems.
The neighbors were advised that this proposal would be back before the
Commission on November 28th and there should be some reponse by the
owners by then. R. Bierman moved to send the proposal for exterior
renovation at 23100 Lorain Road, Rini's Supermarket to the Architectural
Board of Review, seconded by G. Knight, and unanimously approved.
2) Sta Clarence Church, 30106 Lorain Road
Proposal to construct addition to detached garage for rectory.
Mr. Kaczmarczyk, contractor, explained that the addition will be used for
storage and will be about three times as large as the present garage.
The existing garage will be renovated during the construction. It will
not be necessary to remove any parking area for the addition. The plans
indicate that wood siding would be used, but that brick would be an alter-
native. Mr. Bierman would like a definite commitment for brick. The
members decided that brick would be stipulated and that the proposal
would not have to go to the Architectural Board of Review. B. Gorris
moved to approve the St. Clarence proposal to construct an addition to
the existing garage at the rear of the rectory with the understanding
that the materials will be the same brick as is presently being used on
the new church now being constructed and samples of those will be fur-
nished to the Building Commissioner prior to construction, seconded by
R. Bowen, and unanimously approved.
3) Pizza Hut Restaurant, 27845 Lorain Road
Proposal to place shed on property.
Mr. Grieger, manager, explained that they would like to put an 8 by 12
foot wood shed behind the building. The shed would be used for storage
(uniforms, cleaning supplies, etc.); there would be no seats added inside
the restaurant. Building Commissioner Conway advised that there are no
zoning code regulations for sheds in a commercial district. PZr. Grieger
presented a photograph of the pre-fab shedm ?iembers are concerned that
this type wood shed would deteriorate rapidly. It was pointed out that
the dumpster is enclosed in brick and has a gate. Mr. Knight commented
that in the past year the Pizza Hut property has been unkempt, Mr. Bowen
believed that this shed should be enclosed in brick and pointed out that
a sturdier structure could not be broken into as easily. Mr..Thomas
suggested an all brick addition to the rear of the building. Mr. Grieger
agreed to withdraw this proposal and come back at a later date with
a different proposal.
IV.
