<br />BOARD OF BUILDING CODE APPEALS OCTOBER 26, 1989 PAGE 2 <br />V. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Mr. Kazak does not believe that the E.P. A. ban would hold up in court if <br />anyone contested-it. <br />VI. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Mr. Schulz stated that the city should be looking at r.adon testing for new <br />construction, since this is to be regulated by the E.P.A. in the near future. <br />Building Commissioner Conway stated that he and Mr. Schulz have talked about <br />this, and he has sent for information from the E.P.A., He has not heard <br />anything as yet about guidelines or deadlines. He needs information as to <br />how to test a building site, since usually the radon is detected after the <br />structure is btiilt. Mr. Schulz stated that there are preventative measures <br />which the builder can install during construction. AZr. Conway stated that <br />this would be inexpensive to do while a building is being constructed. <br />The members agreed that since the next scheduled meeting is on Thanksgiving, <br />the board will meet on November 30, 1989, if there is any business. <br />VII.
