<br />BOARD OF BUILDING CODE APPEALS FEBRUARY 23, 1989 PAGE 3 <br />he did not have to change what is existing, but the addition must comply; <br />that a certain percentage of the floor area had to comply with the minimum <br />ceiling height; and that the type of roofing material that he was planning <br />to use conformed to code f_or a flat roof. J. Konold moved to deny the <br />request for a variance for Walter H. Ahlers, 4352 Columbia Road, seconded <br />by D. Spoerke, and unanimously approved. <br />V. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Mr. Schulz stated that the debris from the garage of the house at Butternut <br />Ridge and Great Northern Boulevard has been removed, but questioned if they <br />did not have to build another garage. Mr. Conway stated that he was not sure <br />that the debris was from a garage, he was told that it was probably from a <br />barn. He stated that if it can be proved that this was a serviceable garage <br />or there is a record of a permit, the owners can be forced to replace the <br />structure. <br />VI. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Mr. Conway explained to the Board that there was a superintendent of construc- <br />tion working in the city under two different contractors, he is not registered <br />as a general contractor since he is supposedly working for the contractors. <br />Mr. Conway would like the Board to consider requiring some kind of registration <br />under these conditions. <br />Election of officers: <br />Mr. Schulz would like the election of officers postponted until more members <br />are present. <br />VII. ADJOURNMENT: <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m. <br />. Schulz, Vice Chairman B. Oring, Clerk of Commissions
