L? <br />r <br />CITY OF NORTH OLPISTED <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MINUTES-FEBRUARY 27, 1990 <br />I. ROLL CA1,L : <br />Chairman Thomas called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: M. Betts, R. Bierman, J. Bowen, and J. Thomas <br />Absent: B. Gor,ris and T. Morgan <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director Diibelko, Building Commissioner Conway <br />Assistant City Engineer McDermott and Clerk of Commissions Oring <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />Mr. Betts moved to approve the minutes of February 13, 1990 as submitted, <br />seconded by J. Thomas, and unanimously approved. <br />Chairman Thomas advised that since there were only 4 members present, it would <br />still take 4 affirmative votes to approve a nroposal. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1) Cherandon Dlaza, south side of Brooknark Road Extension <br />Pronosal to construct building. <br />Heard by Architectural Board of Review February 21, 1990. <br />14r. DiBenedetto, the developer, presented a plan.ref.lecting the changes <br />that the Architectural Board had recommended for the landscape plan and <br />advised that he will be moving the sign south as suggested by the Building <br />Commissioner. Assistant Fire Chief Osterhouse had no objection to the <br />plans in so far as safety, but asked that some provision be made to eliminate <br />thelitter behind the other buildings in the plaza. Mr. DiBenedetto ex- <br />plained that he had contacted the owners of the abutting buildings and <br />toge.thFr.• they have cleaned up the entire area. Assistant City Engineer <br />McDermott advised that an assembly plat will be required. Chairman Thomas <br />requested that since no screening has been required for the dumpsters on <br />the basis that they would not lie visible, he would like to approve the pro- <br />posal on the condition that if the proPosed medical building on Dover Center <br />Road is not constructed, the dumpsters.wil.l be encl_osed taith a material that <br />would match the architecture of the building. J. 'lhomas moved to approve <br />construction of Cherandon Plaza Phase IV for. the building on the south side <br />of Brookpark Road Extension incorporating into that proposal the suggestions <br />of the Architectural 13oard of Review and with the condition that if the <br />medical building that was mentioned was not constructed, then the dumpsters <br />behind the building will be visible and will be enclosed with a material <br />that is similar to the building and also subject to the assembly of the <br />parcels, seconded by M. Betts, and,unanimously approved. <br />IV. NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND SUBDIVISIONS: <br />1) Rezoning Request (Gus Georgalis) <br />'Phe Proposal is to rezone permanent parcel no. 232-28-25, located on the <br />east side of Silverdale Road and presentely zoned "B"-Residence, Single, <br />to Retail Business, General, whicti it abuts. (Withdrawn from the meeting <br />of February 13, 19.90).
