i.-
City of North Olmste d
5200 Dover Center R.oad • North Olmsted, Ohio 44070
Ed Boyle, Office of the Mayor
Mayor
- March 23, 1990
To: Planning Commission
From: Ed Boyle
Subject: Star Lounge
Phone: (216) 777-8000
At your last meeting Mr. Paris claimed a
• reduction of offences as justification for
increasing the parking area. He asked that we
use actual occurences ra-ther than complaints and
compare the events with two other lounges,
Andreaus andArturo's. I agreed.
While specifics are confidential, I have no
problem sharing a summary with you.
l. Events from 1-1-89 to 3-14-90
Star 71
• •- Arturo's 5
Andreaus 5
2. Events at Star . 1989 1990
January .fi °2'
February 2 4
March to the 14th 2 4
3. Excessive number of events
. Noise - 22
Alarm - 7
Keys locked in vehicles - 8
Possession of marijuana - 5
Thefts - 4
Vehicular - 8 (not counting noise)
Mr. Paris also stated that arrangements were.
. being made to retain off duty North Olmsted Police
and Auxiliary officers for the purpose of parking
lot security. I do not know who he spoke to, and I-
did investigate the matter; but it has been a
long standing policy not to allow.our off duty Police
or Auxiliary Police to patrol where there is a ,
permanent liquor license. This could lead to either
the suggestion or reality of special favors.
?....?.:
