Thomas advised
that he and some other members had met with Mr. Hill, City Planner, who
was supportive of what the ComnLission is trying to do, and agreed that
this district would be beneficial to the city, and defensible in court.
He made a few minor changes: the mininnm? lot size had been reduced from
10 acres to 5 to 7 acres since this would encourage development of
smaller lots and discourage lawsuites; added an office use with a 3
story limitation on the buildings; removed local retail to only allow
it as an ancillary use to a specific developr.ient; setback restrictions
should be general, allowing Plaruzing Commission to alter if desirable
and appropriate to the development; elderly housing should be a 5 story
maximtan with a 75 foot setback; he included parking requirements that
would be appropriate for various uses. Further he believed that, the
intentian of rezoning the west end of town would be beneficial to the
future of of the City. -
Mr. Thomas advised that the review of the first 11 chapters of the
zoning codes would be deferred until the next meeting. - "
IX.
