CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO
OFFICE OF THE COUNCIL
PHONE: 777-8000
COUNCIL
James D. Boehmer
President
Barbara L. Seman
Clerk
James L. Nashar North Oltnsted Planning Commission
Ward3 5200 Dover Center Road
F.Dean McKay North Olmsted, OH 44070
Ward 4
Dear Chairman Gorris and Commission Members:
Patricia D. Bahas
Councilwoman-at-Large
Janet A. Saringer
Counciiwoman-at-Large
Ronald J. Tallon
Councilman-at-Large
I am imable to attend the PlanrL.ng Commission meeting of
September 10 as I will be out of the city. However, I
do have some comments and concerns regarcling the proposed
development by Shore West Builders in the golf course area
near Canterbury Road.
I join with the residents of Pebblebrook subdivision in
opposing the use of sub lot 22, parcel #235-26-011 as a
street for the cluster homes. By permitting an access
street at this loca.tion, the traffic would increase beyond
reason through a residential neighborhood and would reduce
the safety of children and adults.
Also, I wish to voice my concern of the proposed entrance/exit
street at the end of Canterbury and Butternut Ridge. The
traffic would exit onto Canterbury at approximately 140 feet
south of Butternut. This would allow only seven cars stacking
before the intersection would be blocked. I feel all traffic
fron both developments should use the proposed road near
Springvale golf course.
Another concern with this development would be the need for a
. traffic light at Butternut and Canterbury. The developer
should bear the cost of the traffic signal.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Sincerely yo urs,
Dean McKay
Councilman Ward 4
(5197 Colunbia Road)
FDM/bls (i?'
