CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID <br />ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD <br />MINCT'1'ES-JULY 21, 1993 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Zergott ca.lled the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />Present: S. Ferencik, Y. Sohn, and B. Zergott. Absent: T. Gallagher. <br />Also present: Building Commissioner Conway and Clerk of Commissions Oring. <br />II. REVIh1,: AIv'D CORRECTION OF MINUTES : <br />In the minutes of the June meeting, Mr. Zergott was not listed as being <br />present. S. Ferencik moved to approve the minutes as corrected, seconded by Y. <br />Sohn, and tmanimously approved. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />No items. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Beeause of a mistake made by the eontraetor constructing-Cinnamon Woods, the <br />foundatian of one building is 3 feet too close to the street. The members agreed <br />that it would not be necessary to r.iove the foundation. <br />The Olive Garden restaurant. is requesting to install a 6 by 10 foot storage <br />behind the dwnpster. It will be constructed of T-111 and painted white with <br />white asphalt shingles. This will not be visible from Lorain Roaii, it will only <br />be visible from the Recreation Center drive. The members ha.d no objection. <br />V. NFW BUSINESS: <br />1) Stylin' Concepts, 29919 Lorain Roael. <br />Proposal is to build an addition to an existing building and construct free <br />standing storage building behind additian. Heard by Board of Zoning Appeals an July 7, 1993. . <br />Referred by the Plamiing Conunission on July 13, 1993. <br />-?Mr. Case, owner, and Mr. Phillips, contractor, presented plans for an addition <br />and a detached storage building and presented pictures of the existing. The <br />addition will match the existing bu3lding with Texture 111 siding in a light <br />gray with black Certainteed shingles. The detached building will have the same <br />roof shi.ngles with a McElroy steel vertical siding in a slightly darker ash gra.y <br />which will be compatible with the T-111 vertical siding. It was noted that the <br />existing building is light gray (picture shows it as= white), and this was as <br />close a ma.tch as possible. Both the overhead and the 'walk-in door will ;be wliite <br />to match the existing. The parking .will be paved and tlie -rear yard will be <br />grass. It was clarified that both the'addition and the detacYied building will be <br />used for stnrage. No additional lighting is planned. Building Commissioner <br />Conway advised that the asphalt must be in before occupancy is issued. Mr. <br />Zergott stated that the existing landseaping is goorl. B. Zergott moved to accept <br />the Stylin' Concepts proposal as submitted, seconded by S. Ferencik, and <br />unanimously approved. <br />1
