considered because it did not meet the criteria of. being in an area tha.t meets
the needs of senior citizens. This study 'is to determine how many units are
needed which will then determine how much land is needed. This survey will use
the demographics in the Ma,ster Plan relating to population etc., but not
regarding any locations. The city would probably consider the Dover and Lorain
area if the numbers substantiate using that size parcel. Regarding the rezoning
legislation, Mr. Gorris moved to request that the Law Department prepare
legislation to rezone the various parcels that are indicated in Mr. Dubelko's
memo to Mr. Deichmann of October 8, 1993 and that those requests be presented to
council as soan as possible, seconded by J. Thomas, and unanimously approved. The
clerk will prepare legislative requests for the various rezoriings.
VII. NEW BUSINESS: (Heard at this point.)
Building Commission Conway has a request from Rollo Pollo chicken to renovate the
Italian Oven Restaurant and re-install the drive thru window that was there with
the first owner. There will be renovations to the arch and signs. The
Architectural Review Board has already commented that the sign was too boldo The
members agreed that this .renovation should be presented formally to the
Commission.
14r. Conway presented samples of the new.Rally's tile which is a better match to
the paint color that was originally approved. The tile has been approved by Mr.
Sohn of the Architectural Review Board.
In reference to Nightfall Night Club, Mr. Conway advised Mr. Thomas that he will
be counting the actual rnnnber of hard surface parking spaces and will only allow
them to have the number of seats permitted with that rnumber of spaces. He will
order them to barricade the accesses to the other areas where customers have been
parking,'_'if they fail to comply, he will turn the issue over to the Law
„ Departmerit.
? Mr. Thoma.s stated that there has been a-daily yard sale at the home next to
Kacireks' Funeral Home where they are bringing in truck loads of goods to sell.
Mr. Conway stated that his inspector had been told. that this is the second week
of the sale and it was to be continued'Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. If it is
still going on the third week, he will take action, however, he advised tha.t he
had previously lost a similar case in Rocky River Court.
Chairman Gorris asked Mr. Thomas to chair.an ad hoc committee to review the
current Mixed Use "D" to make recomendations as to how to change it in those
areas which may be deficient for the proper development of parcels that are
intended to be rezoned to Mixed Use "D", particularly the west end of Lorain
Road. Mrs. 0'Rourke volunteered to serve an this committee.
IX. ADJOURNTENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
?.
9
