He further noted that this traffic would be distributed somewhat in the morning and in <br />the evening. Assistant Law Director Dubelko stated that it would be sufl'icient to include the <br />recommendation to approve the length of the cul de-sac in the same motion in which the plat is <br />approved. J. Thomas moved to approve the subdivision of permanent parcel numbers 233-3-2, <br />233-3-4, and 233-2-10, as described in the Barton Oaks Subd.ivision Plat for twenty-two (22) <br />residential sublots and two non-included Blocks "A" &`B" parcels, we also note in our <br />approval that the street, the proposed Jacqueline Lane, is beyond the 500 foot limitation of a cu1- <br />de-sac as required in our code, and we recommend that the additional length be approved by <br />Council along with the subdivision of the parcels. We fiuther would like to send this to the Safety <br />Department for their input as far as the length ofthe parcel is concerned, and to Engineering for <br />their review for traffic impact on Barton Road, seconded by K O'Rourke, and unauimously <br />approved. <br />2) Dennis & Georgene Carlton Subdivision. <br />The proposal is to subdivide pennauent parcels no. 234-18-211ocation is on the south side of <br />Vita Lane (east off Barton Road) and owned by the city ofNorth Olmsted, into (3) buildable lots. <br />Zoning is B-Residence, single, entirely and the proposal conforms to the Zoning Code <br />requirements for frontage and area. <br />At the begiuning of the meeting City Engineer Deichmann had asked that this request be <br />withdrawn and brought back at another meeting. The adjacent residents will be notified again. <br />Mr. Henry, City Line Inc., who had an interest in the property, had arrived later and was advised <br />that the subdivision had been withdrawn due to some tax problems. He stated that they would <br />refer the problem to their attorneys. <br />III. BLTII.,DING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: (Heard at this point) <br />1) Boston Chicken, 26440 Lorain Road. <br />Proposal to renovate existing National City Bank building to a restatuant use and including <br />renovations to parking lot. <br />Mr. Landru, representing P. & L. Foods, presented the plans and explained that they would be <br />taking over the National City Bank building and renovating the building to install a Boston <br />Chicken Restaurant. Since they have parking up to the property lines, several variances will be <br />required: a 10 foot setback variance is required on the east and west sides adjacent to the <br />parking lot; a 10 foot setback is also required in the rear behind the parking area; also a <br />variance will be needed for miniunum lot width since the lot is 100 feet wide, and 150 feet are <br />required and also there is less that the 1.5 acres required by code; a variance . Further variance <br />will be required for signage, to use the existing pole sign, and to use their smallest signs on both <br />the south and east elevations and to put their logo on the west elevation. Mr. Thomas explained <br />that pole signs are no longer allowed in the city, and he did not believe that a.ny pole signs have <br />been approved for two years. They will use the rear access drive that exits to the Best property. <br />Mr. Landru advised that they have increased their parking somewhat and they moved the <br />2
