That the developer present information on lighting and pole heights at the next
meeting and ask that he also present at the building without its neon statement. The motion was seconded
by Mr. Koeth, and unavimously approved.
N. NEW DEVELOPMENTS AND SUBDNISIONS:
No items.
V. COMMUNICATIONS:
No items.
VI. COMIVIITTEE REPORTS:
No items.
VII. MINOR CHANGES:
Building Commissioner Conway mentioned the Main Street Cafe and advised that he had not found any
drawing or minutes referring to the fence having to be solid, the approved drawiug does not show the
split rail feuce. Mr. Tallon will review the drawing at city hall. Regardiug the conaplaints on the lights, the
owner is going to slueld them, but he has not done so as yet. Mr. Conway would like to take up both
issues at one time.
Building Commissioner Conway advised that Bennett Dover Home Remodelers would like to put an
open stairwell into the east side yard in order to finish the upstairs for offices. If they need more parking,
this would come before this board otherwise it can be approved as a minor change and will go on the
board of zoning appeals. The parking requirements cannot be determined until their plans are finalized.
He further advised that they are also going to board of zoning appeals to keep a storage enclosure belund
their dumpster since the enclosure will eucroach into the landscape buffer.
Building Commissioner Conway advised that Wal-Mart is planniug to elivniuate the garage doors on the
area that was going to be the auto service center. Previously they had an awning that jutted off the
building, now they are asking to invert it so that it runs the other way. Originally it was only about 12 feet
high, now it will be raised to 20 feet high. The awning is needed to coinply with codes that stipulate that
the exterior haudicapped exit facilities have to be covered. This is in a corner and is behind the landscape
mou.nd, but Mr. Brenuan believed it would be more visible over the mound at that height. Mr. Conway
believed that it had to be lugher because of some interior problems. Mr. Tallon would like the
commissioner to ask why they had to raise it, otherwise they had no problems with the change.
Buildiug Commissioner Conway advised that Auto Accents wants to change. from a flat surface to a
scored surface and will bring the Dryvit out about a half inch to have a column effect at the coruers.
Building Commissioner Conway advised that Forest City Auto Parts is requesting to put a light on the
existing C.E.I. pole. 1he meinbers have disapproved those in the past and will not approve tlus one.
VIII.
