CODE OF ETHeCS <br />HanesEy, justice, and courtesy form a moral philosophy which , assaciated wittt mutuai <br />interest arnong people constitutes the fourtdatian of ethics. The member should recognize <br />such a standard, rtot impassive observance, but as a set of dgmamic principles guiding their <br />conduct. It is their duty ta pracctice the profession according to this code of etttics. <br />As the keynote of professional canduct is integrity, the members wiil discharge their dtrties <br />vvith fidelity to the public, their clients, asid with faimess and impartiality ta all. 'rhey shautd <br />uphold the honor ar?d dignity of the4r professian and avoid associatiart wi4h any enterprise of <br />questionable character, or apparent conflict of interest. <br />1. The member will express an opinion only when it is based on practical <br />experience and honest conviction. <br />2. The member will always act in good faith toward each client. <br />3. The member will not disclose any information concerning the results <br />of the inspection without the approvai of the clients or their <br />representatives. <br />4. The member will not accept compensation, financial or othenn+ise, <br />frorn more than one interested party far the same service witttout the <br />consent of alt interested parties. <br />5. The member will not accept nor offer commissions or allowances, <br />directly, firom other partles dea9ing with their client in cannection with <br />warlc fer which the rnember is responsitile. <br />6. Tfie member will promptly disclase to his ciient any interest in a <br />business v++hich may affeci the client The rrsember wipl not allow an <br />interest in any business to afFect the quaJityi or results ofi the9r <br />inspectian woik which they may he calleci upon to perform. The <br />inspection work may not be used as a vehide by ttie inspector to <br />deliberately obtain additionai work irt any other fleld. <br />7. An inspector shall make every effort ta uphold, maintain and improve <br />the professional integrity, reputation and practice of the home <br />inspection industry. He will repart all such refevant information, <br />including violations of the Code by other members, to the Association <br />for possible remedial action.
