? <br />d <br />3. WEWS-TV, 28895 Lorain Road. <br />Request for variauce (1123.12). Request the following sigu variances: <br />A 10 foot set back variauce from right of way for pylon sign. <br />Request variauce to install individual tenant pylon sign. <br />Violations of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.12 (b) and 163.12 (H) <br />Note: Non-conforming sign must be removed by January 1, 1998. The shopping center has an <br />existing pole sigus with the name of the shopping center and individual tenauts. <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Ms. <br />Robinson, representing the station. She explained that they have recently started a west side bureau in <br />the Sun Newspapers office, and there is an existing sigu, but it is very hard to see. Since viewers are <br />being asked to drop off video tapes of various events, they must kuow where to go. Mr. Koberna <br />advised that he fou.nd the insert sign, but could not find a store front sign, so he assumed they were in <br />one of the offices. Mr. Maloney stated that the landlord was going to have to change the bill board sigu <br />because it was difficult to see the names. He had tallced to the landlord who is agreeable to having tlus <br />pylon sigu for one year and he has agreed to relocate his rental signs so that the signs will not be right <br />on top of one another. Also, they will not encourage auy other tenants to install similar sigus. Ms. <br />Robinson clarified that this sign was only for one year and it would be a non illuminated pylon sigu. <br />Chairman Gomersall advised that this board would never entertain a request to extend the one year <br />period. Ms. Robinson agreed. <br />J. Maloney moved to grant the request of WEWS-TV, 28895 Lorain Road for the following variauces: <br />a 10 foot set back variance from right of way for a pylon sign and a variance to install individual teuant <br />pylon sign with the condition that the rental sign that is one the property be spaced equi-distant from <br />the west edge of the driveway to the property line at the Clark Station for a period of one year <br />Violations of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.12 (b) and 163.12 (H). The motion was seconded by T <br />Koberna, aud unanimously approved:. It was clarified that the owner had agreed to re-locate lus rental <br />sign and it would have to be done prior to this one being installed. Variances granted. <br />4. Charles and Margaret Vegh, 3872 Walter Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request a 2.5 foot rear yard variance for proposed adclition. <br />Violation ofOrd. 90-125, Section 1135.08 (a). <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Mr. <br />and Mrs. Vegh. There was no discussion on the request. <br />T. Koberua moved to grant the request of Charles and Margaret Vegh, 3872 Walter Road, for a 2.5 <br />foot rear yard variance for proposed addition. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.08 (a). The <br />motion was seconded by J. 1Vlaloney, and unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />5. Homestead Village HoteL located on the south side of Countrv Club Blvd., east of the pronosed <br />Marriott Courtvard, north of I-480, and west of Columbia Road. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request the following variances: <br />A 19 foot front setback variance. <br />A variance to have cooking facilities in all 136 units. <br />A variance for 87 units that do not have the required 345 square foot of floor area. <br />Violations of Ord. 90-125, Sections 1149.04 (c) and 1139.06. <br />Note: Variances for 87 units that do nmt meet minimum code requirements for area are uo _ <br />recommended by plamiing commission.
