problem. Mr. Engoglia advised that he had two jacks that he would loau them and he explained how it
could be done. Mr. Kazak believed it might be easier to install a 4 by 4 by 16 inch block foundation.
Either method would be acceptable. Mr. Burk thought it would be better to do it this way than to
leave it as it is, and have to condemn it later on when it rots around the perimeter. Mr. Engoglia stated
that, he would be willing to show them how to do it at no charge. The members noted that it would
have been better if the builder had gotten the permit and the plans would liave been explained to them.
Apparently, the builder did not want to spend the money to register with the city. The members
explained how to either extend the anchor bolts, or else put in more bolts, but clarified that it could be
done without tearing down the entire garage. The door could be lowered easily by putting in a two by
four below the header, and this would not be costly. Mr. Engoglia would be willing to meet the
carpenter on the site and explain it to him. Mr. Burk and Mr. Engoglita also suggested Mr. Duffy
advise Mrs. Davis that the house needed some work done also, and was really in worse shape than the
garage. She could be forced to do this under the property maintenance code. W. Engoglia moved that
the board suggest that Daryl Davis, 27516 Butternut Ridge Road, have the garage raised, then install
a 4 by 4 by 16 inch block foundation, properly anchored, either by extending the existing bolts, putting
other bolts in it so they could anchor the existing plates, or by using anchor straps. The motion was
seconded by J. Kazak, and unauimously approved. Mr. Engoglia offered his phone number so the
carpenter could call him and he would meet him and show him how to do it and would loan him the
jacks at no charge. Mr. Rymarczyk asked that the builder call for an inspection before they close it up
so the inspector can see it.
V. NEW BUSINESS:
No items.
VI. OLD BUSINESS:
Mr. Rymarczyk advised that Mr. Blazey (whose case was heard July 31 st) had moved from the
property and he thinks that the lot is sold. If so, a special meeting may be needed to approve bu.ilding
a home on a lot 50 foot or less. The members would have no problem with that, but cautioned that the
existing foundation would not be usable.
VII. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
R.
