M. Yager moved to approve the Harsax tenant signs with the following comnaents: that the tenant
sign be the burguudy presented and that they be non-illumiuated and that the addresses on the two
corners on the building be identical in style of that on the Lorain Road sign. The motion was
seconded by S. Krieger, and unanimously approved.
2) Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain Road.
Review of ground sign for Galilee Gift and Bookstore.
Mr. Malik, architect, representing St. Clarence explained that they are proposing a new 30 square
foot ground sign for the new book store, gift shop and coffee shop. They have relocated the sign
so it conforms to the location as specified in the code. The sign will be illuminated with 100 watt
high pressure sodium ground lights which will be shielded. The sandstone will match that of the
retaining wall in the back and the limestone will be similar to what is on the chtuch. Mrs. Krieger
noted that the high pressure sodium will give the sign a yellow look. Mr. Yager believed that the
sign is acceptable. He noted that nonnally, he would not approve of all the verbiage, but in this
case it is necessary because the name would not indicate everything that they did.
M. Yager moved to approve the Church of St. Clarence ground sign as presented, seconded by T.
Liggett, and unanimously approved.
Assistant Building Commissioner Rymarczyk advised that they might have to apply for a variance
because there are two business listed on the sign, or else they could just list Galilee Bookstore. Mr.
Yager believed that this is necessary because no one will know what they do. St. Clarence is going
for a variance for their temporary sign, but they could combine the two requests.
N. OLD BUSINESS:
Ms. Krieger explained that she will be resigning in January, but she will stay on u.ntil the
admivistration finds a replacement. The person Mr. Yager suggested cannot attend on
Wednesdays. The members cannot change the meeting date. Mr. Zergott believed that the Sth
member had to be a resident or not. Mrs. Krieger thought that only one person had to be a North
Olmsted resident.
V. NEW BUSINESS:
Mr. Yager believed that one person from the architectural review board should attend the planning
commission meetings, especially when a bigger building was being discussed in order to have a
complete understanding of what is being discussed. Or else, they could combine the two boards so
that the architectural review board members could meet with tliem. He belived that the developer
had proceeded too far after they had meet with planning so they could not alter their plans.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m
B. Zergott,
e
3. D?
B. Oring,
of Commisions
?
;
2
