ARCHITECTURAL BQARD 0F REVIEW OCTOBER 22, 1986 PAGE 2
Road, closest to the intersection, but this would be up to Planning
Commission. Building will be white split face.b.lack with vertically
scored dryvit facia, dumpster will be screened with split face block
walls, and mechanical units on roof will be screened with an expanded
metal material. Mr. Ebin would prefer a dryvit wall to screen units
and wants it high enough to screen the equipment in a horizontal line.
Signs were discussed at this point. Building signs will be internally
illuminated lexan with a red background, white letters and a white
border. Both pole signs have white letters with 3 background colors,
orange, purple and red, and a white pole with smaller gas price signs
fastened to po1e. Total sign area allowed must be re-checked by the
Building Department. S. Ebin moved to approve the plans with the recom-
inendation that the mechanical equipment be screened with a dryvit ma-
terial the same as the building facade and with the recommendation that
the curb cuts be reduced to not more than the maximum width allowed in
the code and with the further recommendation that plants smaller than
forsythia be planted at the entrances, seconded by M. Case, and unani-
mously approved. S. Ebin moved to approve the building signs as sub-
mitted, seconded by M. Case, and unanimously approved. S. Ebin moved
to approve the pole signs as submitted,.seconded by M. Case, and
unanimously approved. At this point Mr. Ebin expressed disappointment
that a variance was granted for the second pole sign and believes that
these signs are in contradiction to what the medical building is trying
to do and he would prefer two ground signs in the landscaped areas.
VIe ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
M. Case, Chairwoman B. Oring, Clerk of Commissions
