10 <br /> <br />1 <br />NORTH OLMSTED LANDMARKS COMMITTEE <br />MeetinQ of April 17, 1986: <br />PRESENT: Chairperson Sharon Fleming, Michael Patton, Lois <br />Van Auken, Gloria Sell, Betty Lord, Julie '?rown <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:15 <br />CORRESPONDENCES: <br />Betty Lord received a pamphlet from the Ohio Preservation Alliance <br />and discussed the group's membership requirements and programs. <br />The Ohio Preservation Alliance is a non-profit, statewide <br />organization formed to establish an understanding and appreciation <br />of cultural heritage.. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />The minutes were approved from the last meeting. Betty made the <br />motion to approve and Lois seconded. <br />The Carpenter House has applied for 5 grants. One of the grants, <br />wYiich was to Sohio, has already been refused. <br />Arbor Days in North Olmsted is set for April 24,25,26. Butternut <br />trees will be planted and invitations will be sent for the event on <br />t h e 2 6 t h a t 1: 30 . Sharon will be present at the planting. <br />The Butternut District Ordinance changes are to be written after <br />a model ordinance from Bedford and/or Mansfield can be studied. <br />The NOLC also needs to hear from Bob Parry about any important <br />news he received from Col_umbus concerning ordinances. Sharon <br />will be meeting with Mike Gareau after the ordinance changes have <br />been made. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />No events are planned for Preservation Week in May. <br />There was a short discussion about the use of historic,plaques on <br />trees in North Olmsted. It was decided that the N.O. Forester, <br />Dave Wendel could provide help with such a project and also help
