REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES:
The minutes of Alarch 20th were deferred until the next regular meeting.
III. SIGNS:
No items.
IV. OLD BUSINESS:
a) Great Northern Retail Shopping Plaza (Keeva J. Kekst), located
between Pick and Pay and Ameritrust Drive-thru office.
Continued from Architectural Board of Review meeting on March 20th.
Mr. Carlisle of Great Northern and Mr. Patterson of Keeva Kekst Associ-
ates pscsented model of proposed strip shopping center. North and east
elevation have simulated windows which are painted to give the illusion
of a horizon; some windows might be included on the east elevation if
tenants so desire; building can be added on to in the future if necessary;
aluminium wi11 replace wood trim; the dryvit material will be colored,
not painted; mechanical units will be set in middle of roof and will pro-
bably be concealed by the parapet. Mr. Carlisle again stated that in
time this concept will be carried out throughout the center. Mrs. Case,
Mr. Cavaluchi, and Mr. Mongello still have concerns regarding the design
and'the trend that it may set (materials will require more maintenance,
Great Northern will maintain, other might not; blue and green horizons
may appear throughout the city)L Design appears to them to be a series
of garages or a warehouse; too rigid; too many squares, needs something
round or to soften design; design on peak on west elevation not satis-
factory (has slot which will collect snow and could cause roof problems).
Ilr. Ebin has no problem with design and color (thinks it might be festive);
he is concerned that mechanicals might be visible above parapet, and that
square pattern in parking spaces might be confusing. Mr. Carlisle re-
sponded that if inechanicals are visible, they will be screened, and that
if there is confusion in the parking areas, they will define parking
spaces with color if necessary. S. Ebin moved to approve plans as sub-
mitted. Motion died from a lack of_ a second. Mr. Patterson asked if
the Board would give them some definite direction as to what they would
