,. , <br />*.. . <br />J ?'- <br />ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW OCTOBER 16, 1985 PAGE 2 <br />Mr. Draeger, architect, explained that they will' be constructing an <br />office addition to the front with a greenhouse facade and a wood deck. <br />Addition will be white split fa,ce.block, trimmed with tongue and groove <br />redwood stained an Alaskan white (off white), this trim will be carried <br />through on the existing concrete b,1oGk b.uilding and the block.will be <br />painted white to match the dryvit. Window and door trim will be dark <br />bronze and windows will be tinted glass. All existing doors will <br />be painted the Alaskan white. Some landscaping will be installed around <br />the front of the building. A small landscaped area (approximately 10' <br />by 20') will be installed between the drives in the front of the property. <br />No signage is planned for the building, they p.lan. to either use the ex- <br />isting pole sign or replace it with a ground sign. Entire rear yard <br />will be screened with a 6' wood fence. Mechanical units are on the <br />existing building and will be screened in front by the addition. They <br />would be visible from the rear and sides. Mr. Draeger agreed to screen <br />the units with the same type of fencing as planned for the yard on the <br />rear of the building, but questioned if this screening were necessary <br />on the east side of the building which is adjacent to the bowling ally <br />and is a solid wall. Board will take this into consideration, but would <br />like the screening presented at a later meeting. S. Ebin moved to ap- <br />prove the plans as submitted providing that the roof mounted mechanical <br />equipment is screened completely by a horizontal line in any direction <br />and that screening be submitted to this Board, seconded by R. Mongello, <br />and unanimously approved. <br />b) Sohio Pro Care (R. Mongello), 4710 Great Northern B1vd. (formerly <br />Superior Muffler). <br />Proposal for addition and alteration to front of proposed automobile <br />repair shop. - <br />(Referred by Planning Commission October 8, 1985). <br />Mr. Fillingim of Standard Oi1 Company presented plans for the alteration <br />to the existing Superior Muffler Shop. Building will be altered to create <br />the same image as as facilities now operating in other communities. A <br />15'8" b.y 6' landscaped area wi11 be installed in the front beside the <br />greenhouse-type entrance way. Building.will be altered with a split face <br />brick in an off white on the lower portion and the existing beige brick <br />will remain on the upper portion and an area near the entrance. Roof <br />top mechainical units now on the building could not be seen in the photo- <br />graphs of the building, however, if new units are installed and are visi- <br />ble, the Board would like them screened. Brown cedar beams will be over <br />the top of the door and door and windows will have bronze aluminum trim, <br />glass will be tinted. Existing garage doors will be painted to match the <br />off white brick. Red and Blue "Pro Care" sign on building will be inter- <br />nally illuminated and two "Pro Care" signs on pylons will be spotlighted. <br />S. Ebin moved to approve the plans as submitted providing that the ex- <br />isting roof mounted mechanical equipment be not revised and if it is re- <br />vised in any fashion that it all be screened by a horizontal line in <br />any direction and that such screening be submitted to this Board, sec- <br />onded by J. Cavaluchi. Roll call on motion: Ebin, Cavaluchi, and Case, <br />Aye. Mr6. Mongello abstained. <br />VI.
