The oath was administered to Mr. Giglio who pre- <br />sented revised plans incorporating the recommendations of the Board of <br />Zoning Appeals on November 14th when a preliminary variance was granted, <br />and also incorporating the suggestions of the BZD Committee who requested <br />9' distance between the cement pods and the sidewalk. BZD has continued <br />until submittal of revised landscape and lighting plans. C. Remmel moved <br />to accept the revised plans as submitted at tonight's meeting by the Archi- <br />tect and that the variance be granted Crestmont Chrysler Plymouth and be <br />limited to them, in other words:,if there is any change in ownership they <br />would have to come back before the Board, seconded by R. Gomersall, and <br />unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />2. Sara McClenachan Balch, 32325 Clifford Dr. <br />Request for special permit.to add dormer to non-conforming dwelling (front <br />set back). Special permit required Ord. 62-33, Section 1231.02. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath <br />was administered to R. Balch. Chairman Remmel stated this would be an <br />improvement to this home. R. Bugala moved to give the special permit re- <br />quired to add to non-conforming dwelling for the Balch residence, seconded <br />by C. Remmel, and unanimously approved. Special permit granted. <br />3. Max and Dorothy Johnson, 29794 Lorain Rd. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request for variance to allow more than <br />four (4) boarders in home certified for Single Residential Occupancy <br />(located in General Retail Business area). Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.03-C <br />permits "Boarding houses which rent rooms or lodging on a weekley or <br />monthly basis or serve meals for compensation to not more than four persons." <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath <br />was administered to R. Mongello, architect, and D. and D. Johnson, owners. <br />Mr. Mongello explained that the Johnson's are now submitting a statement <br />from all neighbors within 500' stating that they have no objection to the <br />proposal to board more elderly people. They have four boarders now and <br />will have up to 20 people after addition is constructed. Addition will be <br />to rear and front of house will still have a residential appearance. Law <br />Director Gareau pointed out that there were other group homes in this area. <br />Building Commissioner Gundy pointed out that this is a boarding house for <br />ambulatory elderly residents, and the building code requirements are not <br />as restrictive as those for the group homes that were built for retarded <br />residents. C. Remmel moved to grant the variance request with the pro- <br />vision it meet all of the various city requirements, seconded by R. <br />Graves, and unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />4. Self Service Maxi Wash, property located at the corner of Andrus and White- <br />thorn located in the General Retail Business.area. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request variance to assemble permanent <br />parcels 235-1-12 and 235-1-13 into one lot. Frontage of property is less <br />than 150 feet and area is less than 25,000 square feet. Violation of <br />Ord. 62-33, Section 1174.07. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath
