MINUTES UF LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />NIEETING OF i`/fAY 17, 1984 <br />Present: Vice Chairman Marlene Orzechowski, Robert Hunter, Gloria <br />Sell, Lois Van Auken, Julia Brown, & Betty Lord (8:30p.m.) <br />?-leeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Marlene Orzechowski at 8:05pm. <br />i•Qinutes of the following meetings were approved as presented: IvIeeting <br />of February 16, meeting of March 15 and special meetino of P+Tarch 31, 1984, <br />Correspondence: Acknowledgement from R. C. Gaede Architects for oayment <br />of $50, for rnounted Town Hall specs; correspondence from the Cleveland <br />ttestoration Society; letter dated 3/1/84 from Kory Koran of the Regional <br />Planning Commission attaching list of National Register and Ohio Historic. <br />Inventory properties in North Olmsted. Regarding the latter, Lois Van <br />Auken and Julie Brown agreed to check for possible additions to this <br />list. Gloria Sell to contact iAre Parry and Mrs. Freed. Members were <br />also supplied with information regarding a training program on Downtown <br />Revitalization to be neld in Toledo on June 20-22. After some discussion <br />it was the consensus tl-iat this program would not be particularly bene- <br />fica.al to our situation in North Olmsted. <br />OLD BUSIVESS: <br />Election of officers - Motion was made by Lois Van Auken, seconded <br />by Betty Lord that iYIarlene Orzechowski be nominated as Chairman of the <br />Landmarks Commission and unanimously approved. Julie Brown agreed to <br />act as secretary for this meeting. <br />CDBG Funds - I%,Iarlene Orzechowski reported out on the council meeting <br />of May 15th. Town Hall is not on the list being considered by council. <br />Site Marker - Confirmation has been received of the order placed <br />for the post from Sewah Studios of Marietta. _ <br />Resumes - It was suggested as members ar.e in contact with persons <br />who express an'interest in the Landmarks Commission that we request they <br />submit a resume & same will be kept on file for future reference. New <br />members to receive an orientation packet which might be helpful to them <br />as background information <br />i,'tarlene Orzechowski reported on the following: <br />Town Hall - bidding..not out yet. <br />Porter Road Stone House - rlagnershave a contract for repairs to their <br />house ($47,000. . This should be signed by June 1. <br />Peace Ivlemorial - Members were shown sketch of the proposed memorial to <br />be adde d to the present memorial located at the south end of North <br />Olmsted Park in memory of those killea during the Vietnam & Korean <br />conflicts. <br />Cleveland Magazine - Members were given a copy of the information <br />compiled by Betty Lord, Marlene Orzechowski and Mary Slama for publi- <br />cation in the August issue of CLEVELAND NiAGAZINE featuring North Olmsted. <br />NEW BUSIIVESS: <br />Homecoming - Hours and manpower was discussed.
