? <br />F? ?r CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MINUTES - JANUARY 24, 1984 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Morgan called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: J. Burns, J. Roberts, E. Traczyk, J. Wixted, J. Brown, and T. <br />Morgan. B. Gorris arrived at 8:03 p.m. <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director J. Dubelko, Building Commissioner E. <br />Gundy, Councilmen R. Tallon and R. Beirman, Assistant City <br />Engineer D. McDermott, and Recording Secretary B. Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />J. Brown moved to approve the Minutes of January 10, 1984 as submitted, <br />seconded by J. Burns, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1) Biskind Properties, 28300 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal to construct retail store. <br />Mr. Richland of Biskind Properties advised that the 11,990 sq. ft. <br />building will be built by Great Northern Construction. Building, in- <br />cluding the entire irregular shaped lot, will be sold for a Carpet <br />Barn retail outlet. There will be a 50' front and 50' rear set back <br />(property abuts residential) with parking front and rear. 'I?ao over- <br />head delivery doors will be in the rear; deliveries are made by small <br />trucks from a central warehouse. Exact hours of deliveries and oper- <br />ations are not known. Parking lot lighting plan was not available. <br />Adjacent neighbors F. Zolar and S. Barlow viewed the plans. It was <br />explained that there are no plans at present to use the triangular <br />_ shaped segment. The neighbors and the Commission are concerned over <br />possible use of this segment. Neighbors have no objection to the store <br />as planned. Councilman Tallon suggested that dumpsters be screened. <br />Commission would like to speak to owner at the next meeting regarding <br />lighting, hours, and any proposed use for the triangular segment. Mr. <br />Morgan would like the Safety Department to check the site plan. J. <br />Roberts moved to refer the Biskind Properties proposal to the Architec- <br />tural Board of Review with the request.that plans show location of the <br />dumpster=??t+ra°t--Buard, seconded by J. Brown, and unanimously approved. <br />2) Great Northern Shopping Center, Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal to construct addition to rear of units 64 and 62 (rear of <br />strip center). <br />Mr. Richland had requested that item be withdrawn from the agenda. <br />R
