. <br />r <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MINUTES - OCTOBER 25, 1983 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Morgan called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: J. Burns, B. Gorris, J. Roberts, J. Wixted, J. Brown and <br />T. Morgan. <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director J. Dubelko, Building Commissioner <br />E. Gundy, Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott, Council- <br />men D. Woerpel and R. Bierman, and Recording Secretary <br />B. Oring. <br />II. REVTEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />Minutes of October 11, 1983 were corrected as follows: Page 4, first <br />line should reatl "...variance was granted on July 6, 1983." and on <br />Page 4, ninth line should read ".... of this large parcel would not <br />limit...". J. Brown moved to approve the Minutes of October 11, 1983, <br />as corrected, seconded by J. Roberts, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />(1) Med Center (Simon Sign Co.), 25757 Lorain Rd. <br />Pole sign - heard by the Architectural Board of Review Oct. 19, 1983. <br />Dr. Hummer of the Med Center stated that they were using a different <br />logo from the one approved with their building plans and they now <br />want a pole sign since they think that the ground sign obstructs <br />view from the driveway. Pole sign will be more visable. Architec- <br />tural Board of Review had recommended that frame of the sign should <br />be the same blue as the blue-copy. Mr. Hollenbeck of Simon Signs <br />stated that the frame and the square steel pole was to be duranotic <br />bronze and will be placed in landscape area. Sign conforms to <br />code. B. Gorris moved to approve the Med Center pole sign with <br />the recommendations of the Architectural Board of Review with the <br />exception of the recommendation relative to the sides of the sign, <br />seconded by J. Brown, and unanimously approved. <br />(2) Rini's Supermarket, 26035 Lorain Rd. <br />Proposal to construct addition to supermarket <br />Ruling made by Board of Zoning Appeals September 7, 19830 <br />Commission studied the Board of Zoning Appeals' ruling which deter- <br />mined that property should not be considered as a through lot (pro- <br />perty goes through from Lorain to Brookpark Rd. but has no access <br />on Brookpark, a limited access state route). Addition will be 60' <br />from paving (20' set back and 40' grassy right of way). Commission
