, • M PLANNING COMMISSION NOVEMBER 22, 1983 PAGE 3
the rezoning of 3 single Residential lots to Multifamily, surround-
ing property is zoned Multi-family. Commission believes property
appearance would be improved if apartment building were built in
place of presently run down residences. Mr. Burns stated that traffic
problems in the area had been discussed with original ordinance, and
that Council based part of its disapproval on the basis of traffic.
No definite proposal for building or driveways has been presented as
yet. J. Wixted moved to approve Ord. 83-138 providing for the amend-
ment of the Zone Map of the City of North Olmsted by changing the
premises referred to in the Ordinance as located at the intersection
of Brookpark Rd, and Columbia Road from "C" Single Residence District
to Multiple residence district, seconded by E. Traczyk, and unanimously
approved.
Ord 83-136: This is legislation amending present Sign Ordinance to
prohibit illuminated poles on pole signs. The Commission had re-
quested the legislation. Ordinance addresses interior illumination
only. Members agreed that some provision should be made to eliminate
any exterior lighting which could be applied to exterior of pole. At
this point the Commission discussed the Casey's pol sign: if this
legislation would affect it; what action is being taken to prohibit
the lighting of the pole. They request that Mr. Gundy advise them if
he is going to cite Casey's for the illuminated pole which they had
not approved. J. Burns moved to approve Ord. 83-126 with the recom-
mendation that Section 1221.09C be written to include in the last
sentence of the first paragraph "...be illuminated from within or
lighting attached to said column..."_, seconded by J. Brown, and
unanimously approved.
Ord. 83-137: Board discussed legislation requiring 50' rear yard
set.back for all commercial properties. They felt that this could be
too restrictive especially where two commercial properties are back
to back. Commission would like to discuss this further with Council-
m,an Bierman and Building Commissioner Gundy. Law Director Gareau ad-
vised that this legislation would not affect the ruling on the Rini
property. J. Roberts moved to delay decision of Ord. 83-137 for
further study and requests that Councilman Bierman be in attendance,
seconded by T. Morgan, and unanimously approved.
VI. NEW BUSINESS:
No it enqs .
VII. OLD BUSINESS:
Ord. 83-124: Councilman Bierman had notified the Commission he would
be unable to attend this meeting. J. Burns moved to continue to table
Ord. 83-124 until Mr, Bierman or a member of his committee can be pre-
sent, seconded by J. Wixted, and unanimously approved.
In reference to last meeting discussion on the limited access restric-
tion on Brookpark Road, Mr. Dubelko advised that if that restriction
`' is removed by the.State, the city according to the Ohio Revised Code,
