Commission believes property <br />appearance would be improved if apartment building were built in <br />place of presently run down residences. Mr. Burns stated that traffic <br />problems in the area had been discussed with original ordinance, and <br />that Council based part of its disapproval on the basis of traffic. <br />No definite proposal for building or driveways has been presented as <br />yet. J. Wixted moved to approve Ord. 83-138 providing for the amend- <br />ment of the Zone Map of the City of North Olmsted by changing the <br />premises referred to in the Ordinance as located at the intersection <br />of Brookpark Rd, and Columbia Road from "C" Single Residence District <br />to Multiple residence district, seconded by E. Traczyk, and unanimously <br />approved. <br />Ord 83-136: This is legislation amending present Sign Ordinance to <br />prohibit illuminated poles on pole signs. The Commission had re- <br />quested the legislation. Ordinance addresses interior illumination <br />only. Members agreed that some provision should be made to eliminate <br />any exterior lighting which could be applied to exterior of pole. At <br />this point the Commission discussed the Casey's pol sign: if this <br />legislation would affect it; what action is being taken to prohibit <br />the lighting of the pole. They request that Mr. Gundy advise them if <br />he is going to cite Casey's for the illuminated pole which they had <br />not approved. J. Burns moved to approve Ord. 83-126 with the recom- <br />mendation that Section 1221.09C be written to include in the last <br />sentence of the first paragraph "...be illuminated from within or <br />lighting attached to said column..."_, seconded by J. Brown, and <br />unanimously approved. <br />Ord. 83-137: Board discussed legislation requiring 50' rear yard <br />set.back for all commercial properties. They felt that this could be <br />too restrictive especially where two commercial properties are back <br />to back. Commission would like to discuss this further with Council- <br />m,an Bierman and Building Commissioner Gundy. Law Director Gareau ad- <br />vised that this legislation would not affect the ruling on the Rini <br />property. J. Roberts moved to delay decision of Ord. 83-137 for <br />further study and requests that Councilman Bierman be in attendance, <br />seconded by T. Morgan, and unanimously approved. <br />VI. NEW BUSINESS: <br />No it enqs . <br />VII. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Ord. 83-124: Councilman Bierman had notified the Commission he would <br />be unable to attend this meeting. J. Burns moved to continue to table <br />Ord. 83-124 until Mr, Bierman or a member of his committee can be pre- <br />sent, seconded by J. Wixted, and unanimously approved. <br />In reference to last meeting discussion on the limited access restric- <br />tion on Brookpark Road, Mr. Dubelko advised that if that restriction <br />`' is removed by the.State, the city according to the Ohio Revised Code,
