City of North OImsted <br />LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />5917 Gareau Drive <br />April 25, 1983 <br />T0: Yvonne Yetrigac, Chairman <br />Long Range Ylanning Committee <br />FROi'v1: Betty Lord, Chairman <br />Landmarks Commission <br />April 14, 1983, Ivorth Olmsted Landmarks Commission and the <br />Long Range Ylanning Committee of CiZy Council held a joint public <br />rneeting to hear cizizens' views on the future uses of Town Hull. <br />Approximately forty citizens attended. Another twenty interested <br />citizens sent letters or called the committee before or after the <br />meeting. We were delightecl with the response and very pleased with <br />the thoughtful dialogue that occurred throughout the meeting. At <br />no time aici the cornrnittee have to give ideas. 1he residents were <br />very willing to speak. <br />The most prevalent need seems to be for small (10-15) and <br />rnedium sizea (30-50) meeting space. Yeople representing ten <br />different groups stated their ciesire to use the facility. Both <br />daytime and evening needs were expressed. <br />Other needs addressed were as follows: small dramatic presen- <br />tations using the stage, hanging ballery for paintings, photooraphy, <br />graphics, weavings, etc., Charriber of Commerce office, llepartment of <br />Human Fiesources food bank, a dark room, craft center, duplicating <br />center, serninar and workshop center, reception room, counseling rooms <br />and city archives. <br />North Olmsted Landmarks Commission <br />Recorrimendations <br />Our goal for this builciing is that it be fully utilized by as <br />many different groups and functions as possible. tiJe have.trierl to <br />combine interest and uses in our recommendations. <br />I4ain floor <br />l. Large meeting room capable of accommodating 30-50 people <br />2. Small meeting rooms (10-15 people) <br />3. Restrooms accessible to hanaicapped <br />4. ivtinimum space kitchenette with water, electricity, under- <br />counter refrigerator and stove top unit. <br />5.
