MINUTES OF LAND14ARKS COMMISSION <br />MEETING OF OCTOBER 24, 1983 <br />Present: Chairman Betty Lord, NIarlene Orzechowski, Lois Van Auken, <br />. Robert Hunter, Gloria Sell, Julia Brown <br />Meeting was called to order by Chairman Betty Lord at 8:10 p.m. <br />Minutes of the September 15, 1983 meeting were approved as prese nted. <br />Correspondence: Council minutes, Information on Jeane Furber, and <br />copy of letter from Mr. Copeland to Mr. Gaede. <br />Town Hall Rehab: Betty Lord reported more funds may be available. <br />Administration would like to continue the project and necessary <br />foundation work accomplished. Mr. Serne has requested a meeting <br />with the commission members next week to present plans for the <br />preliminary work. Date arrived at will be Thursday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. <br />Community Cabin: Marlene Orzechowski is in receipt of a copy_of the <br />report submitted by the Renovation Committee for the Community Cabin, <br />under the auspices of Community Council, upon their inspection of <br />the cabin facilities. Trris report will be acknowledged to the presi- <br />dent of Community Council Judy Alexeff with copies to this committee <br />Alice Holmok, Chairman, Irene Schultz and Mamie Albright; also sub- <br />mitting to them a copy of this commission's letter dated January 22, <br />1982, to the mayor and all members of council. We will lend them <br />whatever support we can provide. <br />Preservation News: Julia Brown reported renewal has been submitted. <br />Furniture and Equipment: Mr. Corrigan has advised there would be <br />some surplus furniture available for this commission's use. New <br />steel file cabinet will be ordered. <br />H.B.R.P.: Gloria Sell reported revision of the Research Procedure <br />is nearly completea This should simplify the method of research. <br />The matter of the division of responsibility and reorganization <br />within this commission was discussed and the consensus was that <br />we must have more time to think about it. <br />Betty Lord announced she would like to give a slide presentation <br />at her home on Saturday, November 12, time to be announced later. <br />Robert Hunter also reported he had met with Mr. Sadler in Elyria <br />but was not successful in getting any maps on this visit.;- <br />Meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m-. <br />u ia K. rown, ecy. e y Lor , C airman
