Mongello
Mrs. Case arrived at 4:20 p.m.
Also Present: B. pring, Recording Secretary
II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES:
S. Ebin moved to approve the Minutes of November 17, 1983 as submitted,
seconded by J. Cavaluchi, and unanimously approved.
III. SIGNS:
No items
IV. OLD BUSINESS:
Rini's Supermarket (G. Draeger) 26035 Lorain Rd.
Proposal to construct addition to supermarket
. Referred by Planning Commission on October 25, 1983.
Disapproved by Architectural Board of Review on November 16, 1983
£or lack of landscape plan.
Mr, G. Draeger presented alternate proposals for landscaping: if
they can get approUal from the State,.they will plant seven imperial
honey locust trees on the State right-of-way, or if they cannot.get
State approval, they will reduce the addition by 2' and plant a'r:bor
vitae 416" on center on a planting strip on the property adjacent
to the 20' drive. Board would like both the arbor vitae and the
honey locust. Regardless of which landscape plan is followed they
will install a 2' recessed soldier course 14' above grade around
south and east wall of addition. Roof top units are existing on old
portion of roof and no new units are planned. No new screening will
be constructed. Mr. Richland of Great Northern Partnership objected
since units are vi,sable from a11 sides and he believed that the code
would require updating of building to comply with existing code (thus
requiring the screening be installed). Mr. Mongello stated that he
did not believe that this could be enforced under the new 1984 code.
J. Cavaluchi moved to accept the plans as submitted subject to the
following; option #l,subject to State approval of trees (honey locust)
along with the arbor vitae on State property; should State approval
not be obtained in a reasonable period of time, then Rini's will ex-
ercise option #2 whi;ch is the provision of the arbor vi.tae --on the land-
lords property, (but as a matter of record, the Board would prefer
option #1), seconded by R. Mongello, and unanimously approved. The
