PLANNING COMMISSION DECEMBER 28, 1982 PAGE 2 (3) Peeorrelli and Conti Hair Design (Mongello and Assoc.), 25796 Lorain Rd. Proposal to construct hair design studio and lease offices. (Heard by the Architectural Board of Review 12/22/82). Plans were studied in conjunction with the Architectural Board's four recommendations. Regarding the first recommendation, Mr. Leo of Mongello and Associates, stated that the greenhouse enclosures are purchased in moduals and that the nexr shortest would be 32" below the cedar peak, and he does not believe that that design will be effective. There were no structural reasons for the Architectural Board's recommendatione Mr. Leo also is in disagreement with the second recommendation to cover the ex- isting stone with cedar siding. The Commission agrees that the cedar siding on the.existing building will improve the appearance of the building. Mr. Leo is in agreement with the third recom- mendation (deleting the cedar on the west elevation and capping the removed brick wing wall with the wood trim; and he also agrees withthe four-th recommendation(reshingling the western roof of the existing garage with new roofing to match the new portion). T. Morgan moved that the proposal to renovate the exisitng dwelling for the Pecorrelli and Conti Hair Design building be approved with the recommendations of the Architectural Board of Review as contained in the excerpts of the Minutes of December 22, 1982 witli the exception of Item 1, wherein the western most greenhouse be either raised above the angled roof line or dropped below the peak of the westerly roof line approximately 2', be deleted; and recommends that the original plans showing the western most greenhouse at the same peak (same elevation) be retained, seconded by B. Gorris, and unanimously approvedo IV. NEW DEVELOPMENTS: No Items V. COMMCTNICATIONS: Letter from Ohio Department of Mental Retardation relative to the West Haven Foundation group homes, asking for any comments or ob- jections that the Commission might have. The Commission decided to send the minutes of the hearings pertaining to West Haven. VI. NEW BUSINESS: No Items VII. OLD BUINESSS: Regarding Springvale Country Club Public Service sign, continued from December 14, 1982 in order to receive an opinion from the Law Department, Assistant Law Director Dubelko advised that the principals should proceed through Planning Commission with de- tailed drawings and an exact location of the proposed sign, as well as having legislation introduced by either a councilmember or the Mayor since permission to use public land must be approved by Ordinance. A copy of. tiieseminutes will be sent to Mr. Shep Af
