V <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />MINUTES - AUGUST 5, 1981 <br />Chairman Ledvina called the Meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />Present D. Ledvina, C. Remmel, L. Horvath,and W. Wasniak <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner E. Gundy and Recording <br />Secretary B. Oring <br />C. Remmel moved to approve the Minutes of July 1, 1981 as submitted, <br />seconded by L. Horvath, and unanimously approved. <br />1. C. F. Starek, 264 Waterbury Circl"e <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 12` rear yard variance for <br />addition of summer room. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1163.01. <br />Chairman Ledvina called'all interested parties before the Board. The <br />oath was administered. The patio already has an awning and now the <br />owners want to enclose the area with a permanent roof and screens. L. <br />Horvath moved to grant the variance, seconded by W. Wasniak. Roll <br />Call on Motion: Horvath, Wasniak, and Remmel, yea. Mr. Ledvina, Nay. <br />Variance granted. <br />2. George Slifko,.24353 No. Oxford Oval <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 14' rear yard variance to <br />enclose patio. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1163.01. Also <br />request for Special Permit to add to a non-conforming dwelling " <br />(front set back). Special permission required by Ord. 62-33, Section <br />1231.02. <br />Chairman Ledvina'called all interested parties-before the Board. <br />The oath was administered. Building Commissioner Gundy stated <br />that possibly a variance had been granted for the front set back and <br />thus a Special Permit would not be needed. It was decided that the <br />Special Permit would be voted on regardless, in case no variance <br />had been granted., C. Remmel moved to grant the variance and the <br />Special Permit, seconded by L:"Horvath. Roll Call on Motion: Remmel, <br />Wasniak, and Ledvina, Nay. Mr. Horvath, yea. Requestsdenied <br />3. Harry Crider, 5608 McKenzie Rd. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request for variance to construct <br />carport in lieu•of garage in front set back area. Violation of <br />Ord. 62-33, Section 1213.01. <br />Chairman Ledvina called all interested parties before the Board. <br />The oath was administered. Mr. Crider explained that because his <br />house is situated lengthwise on the lot, and that a detached garage <br />in the rear would be seen from his front windows. A carport will be
