ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW SEPTEMBER 14, 1981 PAGE 2
NOTE TO BUILDING DEPARTMENT: Mr. Parry stated that there are num-
erous pennants and banners all up and down Lorain Rd. which are
illegal according to the new Sign Ordinance. He requests that the
Building Department have those removed, and suggests that City
Council hi]?.e enough personel to enforce the Ordinances.
IV. OLD BUSINESS:
Hennie Homes Multifamily Development
No. representative present.
V. NEW BUSINESS:
(a) Danny Boy Farm Market Addition, 24579 Lorain Rd.
Mr. Romp, owner, and Mr: Geisser, Attorney, explained the plans.
This will be a 4,200 sq., ft. addition to expand the delicatessen
and check but areas. The loading dock will be extended out.
The addition will match the existing, brick and cedar with ?
shake shingles. A tree in the middle of the parking lot will
be removed so that extra parking can be added. The adjacent
neighbors' claim that there was parking on the buffer zone is
not valid since, according to the ordinance, the parking lot
could be extended to the property line since that property is
all zoned general retail. It was also stated by Mr. Romp that
the plans for the previously proposed office building have been
abandoned. R. Parry moved to approve the Danny Boy's Farm
Market plans as presented, seconded by S. Ebin, and unanimously
approved.
VI. (b) Church of St. Clarence Parish Center, 30106 Lorain Rd.
Tim Quinn, the contractor, explained that this is Phase I for
the multi-purpose building. This will be a pre-engineered,
metal building wi.th canyon gold walls and a metal, reflective
white roof. The front wi11 have two brick panels with vertical
aluminum siding and bronze trim on the windows and doors.
Originally the building was to have been finished with brick
veneer, but because of financial problems, they cannot do this
at this time. It is estimated that Phase 11 will be started in
about 2 years and this section will wrap around the metal
building on three sides with the brick finish. The peak will
then be finished with cedar siding. The metal roof will even-
tually be firred and shingled. The Board suggested that an-
other color on the walls would offer more contrast and that the
white roof would be too visable from Lorain Rd. The site plan
has had approvals and the parking lot is completed. R. Parry
moved to approve the Church of St. Clarence Phase I, the metal
building as an interium facia material until such time as the
future phases will add brick to the walls with the recommendation
that the canyon gold metal wall panels be replaced with the
American Builders sand tan, and also they should consider usina,
