. ?p
ARCHITECTURAL BOARA OF REVIEW DECEMBER 14, 1981 PAGE 2
IV. OLD BUSINESS:
No T-tems
V. NEW BUSINESS:
(a) North Olmsted Party Center (M. 0'Grady), 29271 Lorain Rd.
Addition for office and storage.
Mr. 0'Grady, the owner, stated that this addition will square
off the rear of the building and will be used for an office
and storage. This will not enlarge the hall. The addition
will be a block base with aluminum siding to match the ex-
isting building. S. Ebin moved to accept the proposal as
presented, seconded by R. Parry, and unanimously approved.
(b) Christ The King Community, west side of Barton Rd. between
I-480 and the North Olmsted south corporate line.
Proposal for Christian Community Complex
Dave Pfeil, Architect, and J. Young from Christ The King
presented the slide presentation and explained the proposal
for the Community. More detailed plans will be presented at
a later date. Tfie proposal will be completed in phases and
the first phase will include two group homes for the mentally
retarded and twenty-five units in the retirement community.
The majority of the units will have two bedrooms and 2 baths.
There will be a small precentage of 3 bedroom units and pos-
sibly, if there is a demand for them, a few one bedroom units
with a den and only one bath. There is no water in the area
now, and it will either be brougizt in from existing lines on
Lorain Road or new lines will be installed do.wn Cook Rd. froM
Fitch Road. Mr. Parry had several suggestions for the indi-
vidual units; that the cover over the walk in front of the
units be continued over the doors, and that some type cover- -
ing be installed over the garage doors; that the garages be
moved so that the front door of the unit is visible from the
street; that two units be joined by a common wall instead of
having a 6` strip between each unit (this 6' strip is a sound
barrier); and that the wooden walk way might present problems
for elderly people if it is not perfectly flush with the ground.
Mr. Mongello stated that the over hang over the walk might
make the units dark. It was pointed out the the garages are
more visable then the front elevation of the unit, and that
perhaps they could be redesigned so that they were more com-
patible with the architecture of the buildings. Mr. Pfeil
agreed to take these ideas into consideration while preparing
the final plans. R. Parry moved to accept the plans for re-
view and table any action until the next meeting, seconded by
S. Ebin, and unanimously approved.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
The Meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
M. Case, Chairwoman B. Oring, Recording Secretary
