\\
?
'7?-.? ?
CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
PLANNING COMMISSION
c/o Brian K. Gorris
25845 Butternut Ridge Road
North Olmsted, Ohio 44070
February 24th, 1981
Pres ident
North Olmsted City Council
North Olmsted, Ohio 44070
Dear Sir:
Article VII, Section 2, paragraph B, of the North Olmsted Charter
specifically sets forth the responsibility for platting of all lands in
the city as the primary function of the Planning Commission.
On Monday, January 26th, Council held an emergency meeting and
approved certain platting pertaining to two intersections of Dover
Center Road without prior submission to the Planning Commission as
prescribed by ordinance. Action by the Commission was subsequent-
ly requested.
This violation resulted in great reluctance among the members of the
Commission to proceed inasmuch as Council had already made it a
fait accompli.
Mr. Zuraski implored them to reconsider, that although the signature
of the Planning Commission was not necessary, it was highly desir-
able. After much discussion, the members finally agreed to add their
approval to this proposal in order that the overall program would not
be hindered. -
It is the feeling of the Commission that some explanation is in order
and by this letter formally requests a prompt reply.
Very truly yours,
BKG:rk Brian K. Gorris
`, Chairman, Planning Commission
