BUILDIPIG DEPARTMENT REQUESTS :
(a) North Olmsted City Schools Service Center, 27463 Butternut
Ridge Rd. - Proposal withdrawn by School Board.
(b) Bryant and Stratton Business School, Brookpark Rd. Extension
Ed Hatters of Ray Fogg Building Methods and a representative
Bryant and Stratton presented the plans. Building Corflmi.ssioner
Gtmdy explained that there will be approximately 160 students
and 20 faculty members in the school. There are 179 parking
spaces(47 are required by code.)o The school will be located
just west of Gold Circle Department Store. Originally it was
understood that the land was to be leased from Federated De-
-partment Stores, however, during the discussion it was brought
out that the land was to be purchased. Since there is no
legal sub division of the land, Planning Commission cannot act
on the plans and also, because there is no frontage on Brookpark
Entension there cannot be a legal subdivision of the property
without a variance from the Board of Zoning Appeals. Two
neighbors, R. Blackwell and Mrs. Whittaker were invited to view
the plans. They had many objections in reference to the p ro-
blems created by Gold Circle, especially along the rear buf-
fer strip, a dangerous condition with an open retention basin,
and they were concerned with the extra traffic that will be
created by this building. Most of these problems had nothing
to do with the school and the extra traffic will be minimal.
Chairman Bugala pointed out that this is commercial p roperty
and the owners have a right to develop it. The problems that
these property owners are now having should be directed to the.
Safety Department, Council, and the Police Department. The
