The
frontage of the building is now 35' and the sign will not con-
form at this time, but a letter was presen;:ed from Great North-
ern Shopping Center stating that by March of 1981 Donlevy's
will be able to take over an adjacent unit, and at that time the
lenth of this sign will be less than the maximum allowed by
the existing sign criteria. Mr. Farina assured the Commission
that if they do not acquire the additional frontage this sign.
will be removed and replaced with a conforming sign. R. Perla
, moved that the Donlevy°s Back Room amended sign (36 x 45)
request be approved with a speci4l notation that the Commission
received'a letter from Phillip Barnes, Management and Leasing
Consultant for Great Northern Partnership, who indicated that
the new lease entered into between Donlevy's Back Room and
Great Northern Shopping Center was contingent upon them ob-
taining new frontage which is now Household Finance Company and
thus increasing their sign frontage to correspond with increased
leased space, seconded by-J. Prokasy, and unanimously approved.
In response to the Architectural Board of Review motion to remove
the Herman's Sporting Goods' Sign from the mansard and place it in
its proper location on the sign panel, Building Commissioner Gundy
presented the Council Minutes of Piay 20, 1980 which approved the sign
on the mansard, over-riding Planning Commission's recommendation to
reject the proposal.
Bobbi Gee (Lemon Serigraph), 4694 Great Northern Blvd. Wall Sign.
R. Bugala moved to approve the Bobbi Gee sign at 4694 Great
Northern Blvd., seconded by J. Roberts, and unanimously approved.
Robert Reese, DDS, 29601 Lorain Rd. Wall Sign and Pole Sign.
T. Morgan moved to approve the Robert Reese, DDS sign as
stipulated by the Architectural Board of Review, seconded by
J. Brown, and unanimously approved.
(b) Tuff Kote Rustproofing, 5442 Porter Rd. (Heard before Archi-
tectural Board of Review on September 15, 1980).
Mr. Charles HalleenD the owner of the property, presented the
plans. He stated that he would stripe the pavement.to define-
the entrance. He does not feel that the chuck holes are his
responsibility and would not be covered by his lease. It was
decided that the chuck holes were not the issue before the
Commissiono J. Prokasy moved to approve the plans for the
overhead door for Tuff Kote Rustproofing with the recommendation
that the area that has to be filled in must match the front of
the building, seconded by J. Roberts, and unanimously approved.
