Bugala, J. Brown, W. Ohman, B. Gorris, J. Roberts and <br />D. Ryan. <br />Absent: J. Prokasy <br />Also Present: Law Director M. Gareau, Assistant City Engineer D. <br />McDermott, Councilman J. Boehmer, Bui:lding Commissioner E. Gundy and <br />Recording Secretary B. Oring. ' <br />II. REVIEW AidD CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />Mr. Ryan moved to approve the minutes of February 13, 1979 as submitted, <br />seconded by P4rs. Brown, and approved Lmanimously. <br />III. BUILDIPdG DEPARTPENT REQUESTS: <br />(a) No Items <br />(b) Signs: <br />Ari's Family Restaurant, 27195 Lorain. Mr. Aftoora of Impact <br />Sign Co. presented the sign which had Ueen approved a.s submitted <br />by the Architoctural Review Board on February 19, 1979. W. O:iman <br />made a motion to approve the sign as presented, seconded by J. Roberts <br />and approved unanimously. - <br />Rad-Air, 24260 Lorain. No representative was present so Mr. Gundy <br />presented three signs which had been approved by the Architectural <br />Review Board with the folloxaing reconuaendations: <br />1, on the pole sign outline the logo "Rad-Air" with the yellow <br />band connecting the top and bottom of the radiator design. <br />2, recommend that the pole sign be limited to the logo portion <br />only or make the lettering on the words "Radiator and Air <br />Conditiorling Specialists" in a type face similar to the <br />logo type. <br />At this point the Commission discussed at length the necessity of a <br />more explicit sign ordinance especially pertaining to criteria for <br />rejection or approval of signs. It was concluded that basic guide- <br />lines must be established in order for both the Architectural Review <br />Board and the Planning Commission to effectively administer their <br />responsibilities.
