. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BOARD OF BUILDING STANDARDS <br />MAY 24, 1979 - MINUTES <br />Chairman Gilbert called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. <br />PRESENT: W. Gilbert, J. Patton, B. Schulz, and T. Korberna <br />ALSO PRESENT: Building Commissioner Gundy and Recording Secretary Oring. <br />MINUTES: The minutes of February 15, 1979 were approved as read. <br />HEARING #1 Carl D. Bower, request permission to build on a 40 foot lot, <br />Permanent Parcel 235-12-43, located on the southwest corner of Burns and <br />the undeveloped Northern Ave. <br />HEARIIIG #2 Carl D. Bower, Request permission to build on a 40 foot lot, <br />15-ermanent Parcel 235-12-54, located on the southeast corner of Porter and <br />the undeveloped Northern Ave. <br />Mr. Gtm.dy introduced the plans. Mr. Bower was not present, the adjacent <br />property owners were sworn in. The plans were studied and discussed. <br />The neighbors thought that a ditch shown on the plans was not located <br />correctly, however they had no objections to the development of the <br />lot. It was explained that Mr. Bower would not have to develop Northern <br />Ave. since the homes would have access off Burns and Porter Roads. Mr. <br />Gundy explained that there would be variances required to build these <br />homes. Chairman Gilbert advised that any approval would be subject to <br />approval of the Board of Zoning Appeals. Mr. Patton moved that the Board <br />of Building Standards approve building on both 40' lots subject to <br />approval of the Board of Zoning Appeals, seconded by T. Koberna. Roll <br />call on motion, Messrs. Patton, Koberna, arid Gilbert, aye, Mr. Schulz, nay. <br />Motion Passed. <br />Regarding the case of Gerald Schneider, 5675 Wellesley, originally heard <br />on February 15, 1979, Mr. Gundy requested that the case be tabled until <br />the next meeting so that he can work on it further. <br />In reference to a case hear October 26, 1978, against Hennie Homes, Mr. <br />Schulz has been studying the term "thermal break". It is his conclusion <br />that the term "thermal break" is not a trade name but an industry wide <br />term used to describe a type of window. It was requested that this <br />information be sent on to Mr. Hessler, Assistant Law Director so that <br />he could study it. <br />Developers Diversified, Property at 25408 Butternut Ridge. Condemnation <br />case heard at the February 15, 1979 meeting, the structure burned down <br />and has been demolished.
