I?Linutes of the I,andmarks Comrrrission <br />June 15, 1978 <br />Present: Chairman Betty Lord, Steve Schecter, Zois Van Aulien, 14amie A11right, <br />Vonni.e Petrigac, hlaxlene Orzechawsk-i and Ju'! ie Brmm <br />I4eeting was called to order by Chairman Betty Lord at 8:10 p.m. TiLinutes of the <br />T??ay 18th meeting were read and following correction made: rirst sentence, next to <br />last paragraph - delete last two words (best entry) and add '?basic clesign with the <br />addition of material from other entries". Notion made by Namie Albright, seconded <br />by Lois Van Auken that the minutes be approved as amended. <br />Betty Tord presented mock-up of seal Kay Becker had prepared. Discussion followed. <br />Marlene Orzechowski moved that this mock-up be sent to City Council for approval as <br />the Ci-ty Seal, seconded by liamie Albright. NIotion carried. <br />Zois Van Au1{en:_moved -chat we make available a design incorporating the city colors <br />which would include -the circle and radi2 in yellotia and the outline Qf -the ma.p of <br />North Olmsted green on illustrations, and lettering in black. Steve seconded and <br />motion carried. <br />It was agreed Lois will present mock-up oi seal to Cotincil on June 20th for their <br />consici.eration. Betty stated once we have this approval we sliouZd get publicity out <br />on the history of North Olnasted. She aclvised MadeZine Brookshire had called regard- <br />ing the plac3:ng cf a bit of North Olmsted his,tory in lier N. 0. column weekly. <br />Upon checking, Julie was advised by the rinaizce Department that Landmarlts has a balance <br />of 51900. as of th.is date. This beaxs more checking; it was our impression ovr approved <br />budget wa.s $)1965, and they advised nothing had been charged against flur accoun-t. <br />Betty advised no w;ord has been received from Planning Commission re Town Hall landmark. <br />Long-Range Planning Committee of Council aclvised letter from Planriing Commission sti11 <br />no-t received. Ph.otocopies will be made and Vonnie wi]1 hand delive:c, hoping for a <br />meeting of I,ong-Ranae Planning prior -to Council meeting Tuesday night. <br />Regarding the three sites selected for site signs., Building Comtnission.er Ernest Gundy <br />requests this in writirig pin-pointing the locations selected. 11e sees no problem., <br />and irill act on this immediately in order to get this program going. <br />Following this, a7.1 reports tisere re-edited for use on the historic site signs. Members <br />were rennded of the tour Tizursday, June 29th, starting at 7:00 p.m, irom Betty I,ord ts <br />honie, 5917 CaxeaoDrive. - <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:45 p.m. <br />,-- <br />.
