- y <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLAnTIVING COMMISSION <br />September 27, 1977 <br />I. Roll Call <br />Vice Chairman Rafeld called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. <br />Present: Vice Chairman Rafeld, Secretar.y Evanoff, Messrs. Roberts and Nee. <br />Also Present: Law Directar - Gareau, Builciing Commissioner Gundy, City En- <br />gineer Childs and Recording Secretary Hodgins. <br />II. Review and Correction of Minutes <br />Mr. Evanoff moved to accept minutes as prepared. Mr. Roberts seconded and <br />motion passed. <br />III. Building Department Requests <br />(a) Mr. Gundy resubmitted, after Architectural Review Board Sept. 19 meet- <br />ing, plans for 7-11 Store at Porter and Lorain Rd. Revised plans with <br />changes as recommended by Architectural Review Board were before the <br />Commission. After discussion Mr. Roberts moved to accept plans for <br />Southland Corp. 7-11 Store hith changes as recommencied by Architectur- <br />al Review Board with requirement the pole sign (listed in Ttem #7) is <br />to conform. Mr. Evanoff seconded, and motion passed. <br />(b) Existing Great Northern Mall <br />Response from Architectural Review Board was read by Recording Secre- <br />tary Hodgins. Sol Shur, owner, appeared before the Commission and <br />said some new sign proposals are not red and some have logo. Norman <br />Flury, Superintendent, was present at Architectural Review Board and <br />this evening and said signs conform in size and lettering. Children's <br />Palace sign and front will be improved. Letter from Record Theatre <br />was read by Secretary Evanoff. Letter from owner to tenants was also <br />read by Secretary Evanoff. After discussion 14r. Evanoff moved to a- <br />dopt recommendations of Architectural Review Board as listed in min- <br />utes of Sept. 19, 1977 for Existing ('?reat Northern Mall including <br />sign design standard with .-the exception of thei:r color anci logo width. <br />The Plaza`aing --Commissi'on recommends that 'logo be accepted provided-;they <br />.do not e,cceed the larges-t letter per drawings #10- and -,Y11 dated 5--i?-76. <br />'Iiny p1ans.for sigris.-not meeting sign design standard will follow '•the <br />usua? procedures for approval. ifs.el?Tee seconded, and motion passed.
