<br /> <br /> <br />? <br />, <br />NINU`i'ES OF A MEETING CF THE PLaNNING COA??-IISSION 0F THE <br />C ITY OF NORTH OLT,ISTED, OHIO HELD AT 9: 30 A. M. <br />rAY 1, 1954. <br />Present were Niessrs. Votava, Cha.irman' C. B. Lewis, J. Esgar. Mro Harris and <br />Mr. Bittel were absento Building Comunissioner Crider and Law Director Kitson <br />were also present. <br />Tne Lava Director investigated the possibility of the City of North Olmsted pur- <br />chasing the Leick propertye just west of the City Park. Mr. L1oyd. Leick wants <br />$80,,000.00 for the property, <br />l:r. Frank Schneider, 21'1a.35 Lorain Road, is interested in getting the property <br />south of Lorain hoa.d and east o.f Colunzbia Road rezoned for business. The area <br />is presently zoned fox°multiple residence. Mr. Schneider was told to check <br />with al.l of the pr°operty owners involved to dete.rmine 'if they would bs in faver <br />of the rezoning, prior to appearing before City Council for reZOning. <br />24Y=. <br />The zoning for a light industrial area in 0lrnsted Township, was discussed. <br />The Law Director is to determine what jurisdiction the City of North Olmstec3 has ? <br />concerning land use in Olmsted Township within three miles of the North Olmsted <br />city line. <br />Messrs. Lower, Repko and Calmer of the North Olmsted Board of Educati.on met with <br />the Planning Corcun.ission to discuss proposed location of neia elementary schools. <br />One school is to be located south of Aiaple Ridge at about the end of Frank Streete <br />The other location is off Barton I?,oad south of Lorain Road. <br />The board of Education was told that the City has no use for the portions of <br />Northerng Midvale and Southerr_ Avenues from Burns Road east. The Board of <br />Education was asked if they ivoul.d li?ce to ta,ke over any of the streets for <br />access to the school growndss They believe that Niidvale and Southern will be <br />needed for future back land development. At the next School Boa.rd meeting <br />a decision will be ma.de concerning whether the school vrill take over the <br />use and maintenance of Northern Avenue. <br />For thQ months of June, July and August the Planninb Commission wi31 meet the <br />first Friday night of each month at 8 P.
